My interpretation of what would be Anarki's (Quake Champions) theme song! I was kind of envisioning how fighting game characters have their tracks that play while I made this. It was a fun/interesting challenge to blend a punk rock personality with the sort of metal/industrial vibe that I feel Quake is known for. I also threw in the descending chord motif that is in the Burial Chamber track from QC, as Anarki was one of my favorite picks on that map due to how easy it is to build speed with the huge space. I also blended the sound of his hoverboard whirring up with a riser effect to give some of the transitions the feeling that he's picking up speed. I also thought it was important to convey a sort of sense of chaotic fun, as Anarki is constantly yelling about how much of a good time he's having as he frags :P

My interpretation of what would be Strogg and Peeker's (Quake Champions) theme song! I was kind of envisioning how fighting game characters have their tracks that play while I made this. Right off the bat I wanted to sample a drone taking off and I incorporated that into the textured sound effect at the beginning, with the beginning notes of the ETQW Main Theme/Strogg Victory Theme playing on top. The Strogg were introduced in Q2, so I figured it would only be appropriate to reference a track from that game as well as sort of a callsign for them. The ETQW Theme has a big dramatic climax that I knew I wanted to use as the ending, with it being arranged as Orchestral+Choir in the original. I recreated that on my end, and then translated it to the sort of Industrial/Metal style consistent with the rest of the champion themes.

My interpretation of what would be Galena's (Quake Champions) theme song! I was kind of envisioning how fighting game characters have their tracks that play while I made this. As an Unholy Paladin, I felt that Galena needed two things, a gothic vibe and orchestral black metal. Right? The beginning of the song is a little nod to Parallel Dimensions off of the Quake 1 OST by Trent Reznor and using piano to set the sort of set the orchestral tone that I would be pursuing with the track. In my head, I was trying to mix Opeth, Dimmu Borgir, Nine Inch Nails, and Gojira while maintaining the Industrial Metal style I've established with the previous tracks, super challenging but really fun. Had to get some double bass and blast beats out of my system at some point. ;)

My interpretation of what would be Slash's (Quake Champions) theme song! I was kind of envisioning how fighting game characters have their tracks that play while I made this. I knew I wanted to make at least one Drum and Bass song for the champions as that genre of music was incredibly popular among classic frag videos of the late 90's and early 2000's, and I don't think there was a better choice than Slash.

I wanted to do a little counterplay between high energy DnB and slightly more somber sections as Slash hasn't always had it easy. Between dealing with drug addiction and a likely traumatic childhood, Slash maintains a sort of sinister childlike innocence with her personality and even keeps her teddy bear close by.

I wanted to put this out first because it was basically complete when the poll was first posted and I didn't want to leave everyone hanging with release timing. :)

Here's what you voted for! My interpretation of what would be Visor's (Quake Champions) theme song! I was kind of envisioning how fighting game characters have their tracks that play while I made this. Visor being introduced in Quake 3 meant that it was finally time for me to bring in some themes/motifs from its OST.

I've always mentally associated the idea of flesh twisted with metal with really low tuned guitars (a la Meshuggah), and combined with the industrial grime of Sonic Mayhem's Quake 3 OST, this is how I'd present Visor in the modern era.

By the way, despite appearances, Visor is NOT strogg. :P

Incendimus! My interpretation of what would be Death Knight's (Quake Champions) theme song! I was kind of envisioning how fighting game characters have their tracks that play while I made this. With Death Knight being introduced in the same patch as the Andrew Hulshult score for Quake Champions, I thought it'd only be appropriate to put them together in my own little way.

Death Knight has quite the dark back story. Having slain his own pregnant wife, I wanted to reflect that in the arrangement in parts. Throughout the track, there are little vocal touches (performed by Sharm) which I sort of wanted to be the memory of his wife haunting him, creeping in through the violence and rage of the metal.

My biggest thanks to all of the people who collaborated with me on this track! And a little extra to Andrew Hulshult for bringing us the Quake as well as the shred:

My interpretation of what would be Sorlag's (Quake Champions) theme song! I was kind of envisioning how fighting game characters have their tracks that play while I made this. Like most champions, Sorlag doesn't hail from the "Other Place", yet from her own world, bathed in bloodshed from warring clans. With this theme, I sort of wanted to blend the two concepts together, tribal rage and the Lovecraftian nightmare of Quake.
