I threw a box of primary school instruments at The Waterboys' This is the Sea!
This is one of my favourite songfs in the world- it's been with me since teenage years. There's no point trying to get the epic majesty of the original so did something different with it- a little bit funky with a touch of early Floyd psych perhaps.

Bloodstains and hypocrisy 
Plastic wrappers and scrawny teenagers

Symptomatic of a truant’s hand
Alchemy of an insolvency circus
Played and repaid with contraband 

Shoplifting and battery housing
Broken lifts and just scraping by
Parking meters and wife beaters
A stench of piss where the vagrants lie

method: dr 01s; voice; vst (bells'n'chimes); the cover image shows part of the 'ultimate distortion engine' consisting of one exciter module, one piezo pickup (pledging for mono today) and one slate plate (it could be any other more or less sonically transducive material, though, including shaped materials like springs, material with other material spread out on top, etc .... which renders this engine ultimately versatile, incl all the processes feasable during amplification, eqing and gainstaging); white tape pedal;  vst (balalaika): more voices and then some; several eqing instruments (including CS-5 compressor pedal)
