Lossless Music are extremely proud to present the stunning debut solo album from the Buffalo breakbeat scientist Mark Kloud.

Ever since Mark sent over some demo tracks back in 2017 label boss Soul Intent has been watching and listening to Mark’s output with great interest.

Mark featured on DOPE005 with the beautiful jungle saturated track ‘Strength’. Shortly after Soul Intent offered Mark the opportunity to write a long player for Lossless’s leftfield and experimental sub-label Exkursions, which felt like the perfect home for Marks beautiful ambient 170BPM ventures.

Moonquake features 11 striking tracks showcasing Mark’s amazing skills as a producer, delving deep into ambient and ethereal soundscapes.

Modern Conveniences ventures into unfamiliar territory with the release of Mark Kloud’s Left Stranded EP. Following up his brilliant album from last year, Mark steers the label into murky waters with his signature sound. Understated breaks and bass lay the foundation for a backdrop of filtered synths and textures in “Sedimentary”. “Isonation” and “52.30” are perfect executions of subtlety, distant chords effortlessly weave in and out of minimal drum work. Tension builds in the title track as otherworldly sounds color a desolate landscape punctuated by tribal percussion and echoing voices.

Left Stranded EP is available on all digital & streaming platforms April 23rd.

A collection of songs developed over the last two years from multiple improvisational and experimental sessions using unconventional instruments and methods. Heavy use of cassette tape loop recordings comprising of kalimba, synthesizers and other instruments; various tape configurations/players paired with delay, reverb and other effects, often became the starting point to the compositions.

The pandemic allowed for seclusion in the studio - providing a nostalgic, playful indulgence of sound. The majority of the sessions took place in the winter months, in an area that sees more cloudy, grey days than the majority of the country. While climate and isolation set the mood, there are signs of hope and optimism within the organic flowing arrangements.

Mark Kloud should need no introduction to those familiar with the deeper side of beats, from his excellent material on a plethora of great labels. He turns his unique talents to Omni Music and presents us 4 tracks of original Nu-Jungle. The title track gives an indication of things to come with its sublimely chopped jungle rhythms and sweeping pads, offering sounds to appeal to both jungle and atmos heads alike. Eastern Meteor takes the listener deeper with a relaxed intro that breaks into life with exploding breaks. Our Youth is made perfectly for the dancefloor with it's feverish amen loop and fervent pads. This fantastic EP ends with the original sounds of 'The Stars Were Never Aligned' that begins with deep electronica that carefully teases the speakers before the experimental splintered breaks and epic bass stabs launch the 2nd half of the track into the outer realms. This is another great selection of music from this huge talent and we hope to hear more from him soon.

It's been a long while since I've posted a studio mix. I've recorded several, but my perfectionist hasn't allowed them to go live. This is no exception, some of these mixes are rough, but I don't care. Last week was rough on many levels so I threw together a bunch of tunes and escaped reality. These are not my typical tempos but I enjoy them.
