A GB original created for The Chiptune Café's Valentines-themed Chip Jam, in which entrants were tasked with creating songs that best fit one of three girls, who each represented a different personality and theme. This one was created for the trendy Japan-lover Ujico.

Stylistically I looked to one of the most trendy Japanese video game musicians for inspiration, Manabu Namiki. His excellent music for Doki Doki Sasete!! on the Game Boy Color suited the vibes I wanted to capture with my entry, and I tried my best to match that style with this composition.

At The Core

My original entry for the Chiptune Cafe's Chip Jam V: Spring Break Party, made for the 2A03+1xN163 (NES/Famicom) with FamiTracker.

The theme of this Chip Jam was PARTY, and so I set about making a track that would sound right in one of these. Deep, deep EDM basslines and that dreamy stream-of-consciousness vibe parties always seem to have inspired my final track, and despite hitting various walls throughout I managed to get it all together at the last moment and I am happy with the final result. Hope you enjoy the party while it's here!

My entry for Chiptune Cafe's Chip Jam VI: Tropical Escape, made for the SN76489 (Sega Master System, Game Gear) with SnevenTracker (and a couple of instruments shamelessly ripped from The GG Shinobi).

I apparently composed this to distract some guards and escape an eternal doom of picking bananas in Tobikomi's Banana Plantation, so this also serves as my action-packed theme to go along with my daring escape. Wish me luck!

It's that time of the month again...

Arranged with FamiTracker using the 2A03 Noise channel and 7 N163 channels, this cover was inspired by the stunning yet obscure soundtrack for King of Kings from Hirohiko Takayama and Masuko Tsukasa. Having been scored by Takayama around the same time as Friday the 13th, it should come as no surprise that King of King's instruments are a perfect upgrade for this eerie tune. Friday The 13th - Cabin [2A03+N163]

A collab with tracker maestro fupaboychris for the Chiptune Cafe's Chip Jam VII: Autumn Jam 2, done on the glorious 2A03+4xN163 expansion using 0CC-Famitracker.

I'd been itching to do a collab for this chipjam, and as it happened so was fupaboychris, who was looking to take a break from his amazing covers to make an original. Some shenanigans later (we had less time to work on this than we'd liked and I hunkered down in a Starbucks the afternoon of the deadline to get something submitted), we ended up winning the collabs category in the chipjam by virtue of being the only entry! Truly, the power of teamwork at it's finest. Regardless, we knew our track could be so much better, and spent a month afterwards polishing it to become what you're listening to right now.
