About the song
This song is a new more modern version of the official anthem of the Romani (gipsy) people. The song was performed on national Swedish television (SVT2) on the international Romani day (April 8, 2019): https://www.svtplay.se/klipp/21751182/mark-maxim---gelem-gelem 
The song has also already been played on 3 different Swedish national radio station (SR) and performed live in front of an audience of 2000 people during an event in Sweden. 

We are currently in the process of creating a music video for the song, that will be released on VEVO and YouTube in the end of May 2019. About the song: The original version of this song was released 1949 and is a very traditional Romani folk song. Many new versions of the song have been made but our version is most likely the only/most “contemporary” version. 

We decided to create a soulful trap-pop sound and besides adding text in English, we also created and altered the song melodies a bit, but still keep most of the original vocal melody’s so people can recognise an identify song. We translated and interpreted the original lyrics to English, our version is about 75% English and 25% Romani. We did something very unique with the lyrics, when you hear a sentence in Romani in the song, then the following sentence is actually an English translation of the previous sentence. And in the first half of the “bridge/break down” part of the song, the lead vocal sings in Romani followed by stereo harmony vocals answering with an English translation, both singing and speaking harmonies.

Mark Maxim - Wherever You'd Go

Mark Maxim, the Swedish multitalented pop artist with many years of experience performing, is now finally ready to take the stage as an independent solo artist, with music that truly shows who he is as an artist and what a great singer and performer he truly is.
Both singing and dancing has been a huge part of mark´s life, from that 5-year-old boy performing for friends and relatives, to the adult Mark entertaining large audiences, standing in front of thousands of people, and even moving some to tears with his voice.
Mark has performed on many types of events like fashion shows, night clubs, weddings, festivals and various shows all over Europe. And he now feels ready and eager to debut as a solo artist with music that truly complements his dynamic voice and style.
Mark also works as a radio host on his Swedish national radio show on SR (Sveriges Radio), and during 2019 Swedish national TV (SVT) made a documentary about Mark as a music artist.
In 2018 Mark released several singles, like the RnB/Pop track - “Ger Varandra Mer” featuring Swedish pop artist Tove Ask, and later the soulful ballad called - "Wherever you'd go", which was also released as an EDM version, remixed by the Swedish DJ duo Beatnext.
His career continues in early 2019 with several exciting projects like the release of his Pop/Reggae single - “Frihet”, and his upcoming single “Say No 2 Violence” with a very strong anti-violence message, and the single “Gelem Gelem” that is a new modern version of the official anthem of the Romani (gipsy) people. There is a lot happening for Mark during 2019 that will make a huge impact on the music scene, TV and radio appearances, several music videos on VEVO, live performances, and much more.
