Marko Farion sings this humorous song about his broken clay pipe and how he was able to sweet talk a girl to buy him a new one at the market - and the hijinks that ensue.  This was recorded live at Town Hall in NYC in 1984, under the auspices of the Society of Ukrainian Bandurists.

Recorded live in Guelph Ontario during the Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus' concerts to commemorate the Millennium  of Ukrainian Christianity.  Tenor George Oryshkevych gives a rousing rendition of this aria in its original text.

Marko Farion is widely respected as an accomplished bandurist, bass soloist, and bandura teacher.  The bandura, a 55 stringed instrument that comes from a centuries old minstrel tradition, is known as Ukraine's national instrument.  He received bandura and vocal training from the late Hryhory Kytasty, the bandura's pre-eminent composer.  He also studied music and voice at Case Western Reserve University and the Cleveland Institute of Music.  His accomplishments include performances and recordings with the Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus, the Detroit Concert Choir, the Millennium Choir, and the Detroit Opera Theatre Chorus.  He has traveled the globe with his bandura giving performances and conducting various workshops and music camps for bandura players.  You can find his recordings on all streaming platforms.
