Florian Meindl is to release a new EP on the 2nd of November. Set for release on Florian's established label FLASH Recordings, Collide: Remixes is a collection of remixes of the tracks from Florian Meindl's well received May LP 'Collide'. A collision of analog sounds and styles, Collide takes the listener on a dark techno journey, while the remixers stay true to this. Florian has invited fellow electronic producers Berger, Dubspeeka, Electric Rescue & Avgusto to each bring their individual sound to the remix EP delivering a fresh take on the prominent tracks from Collide. The multi-talented and multi-faceted artist Florian Meindl is renowned for his technical prowess, and over the years has established an impressive producing base for him himself in his Berlin based Riverside Studio complex. After fourteen years of international performances and production, Florian has developed a special collection with his analog equipment, letting them speak for him in music where words just aren't possible.

B1. Amelie Lens & Farrago - Purge

Arriving as the third outing of Len Faki’s recently established non-profit platform LF RMX, these previously exclusive edits take on a raging classic by courtesy of Frankie Bones, godfather of the North-American rave scene.

The new Hardspace Mix bolsters up the characteristic vocal and synths for even more frantic effect but trades in the percussion for Faki’s signature assault of claps and hats. These also dominate the stripped-back Hardspace Tool, which carefully builds momentum only around the sirens and some seriously sizzling low-end rumble. Both of Faki’s personal mixes capture the orignal’s raw energy, yet manage to appear in both sleek but powerful presence.

As with all releases of LF RMX, the proceeds of this record will be donated to the Berlin charity project Straßenkinder e.V. to be used in actions against child poverty.

Slovenian producer UMEK returns to Tronic with his new, killer 2 track EP, Certain Trace. Straight out the gate, some serious no-nonsense techno comes in the form of Deja Vu. It has a thundering kick, haunting synth stabs and a piercing percussive fusion. It has a warped synthetic stab which punches throughout the track and gives some serious authority.

The title track Certain Trace has a mind-melting hook combination, driving listeners into the depths of the mix. It grows in complexity as the track progresses with a catchy elevating style rhythm.

Two crackers right here. We love them both!

UMEK - Deja Vu (Original Mix) [Tronic]

Making his debut on Drumcode in 2017 with his track ‘Fake’ featured on the A-Sides Vol 6 compilation, one of Brazil’s much loved exports Wehbba brings us his first full EP this February with ‘Eclipse’.

A no nonsense 4 track offering, and all thoroughly road tested by Adam, they have gained much support from longtime Drumcode fans. Eclipse, delivers a low end rumble along with a modulating synth line. Reigning high throughout the track, is the undeniably catchy and unique synth. Leaving this track one to be recognised on dancefloors all over the world.

‘Protocol’ doesn't turn down the pace, straight into a chugging hypnotic drive, this track leaks with attitude, along it’s eerie undertones.

Probably the most acid influenced track of the EP, ‘Glasswerk’ has a futuristic modular synth riff which thunders along a hypnotic bass line which flows nicely into ‘Framework’ to close out the EP. Its punchy and powerful kick sits alongside the cleverly crafted synth pattern, taking this track into a dark zone with a groovy element still resonant.

Premiere: SAMA - Indifference

In the late 80s I started listening to UK radio stations when I was a little kid and I instantly fell in love with the acid sound and rave movement that was portrayed on those UK dance shows. When I got old enough to attend clubs and warehouse raves, to experience the movement first hand, it was a no- brainer for me that the music and the lifestyle was my call.
Lately.... in my dj sets and when producing music... I have been time travelling back to those days. Back to how I remember the music I fell so deeply in love with and that is exactly what you hear on this “Done/Undone” release.
For the “Done” track I teamed up with Cari Golden to have a female spoken word and a great message to build the music around.
I always prefer to do original vocal recordings rather than using samples. Cari understood 100% what I was after and I love the lyrics and execution by her.
The spoken word is centered, very clear and deep to contrast the constantly building intensity of the acid patterns and thumping beats.

This is my take on the sound I fell in love with years ago and obviously still love today. I hope you like what you hear.

Alan Fitzpatrick’s latest EP is the product of a particularly productive six months of studio time for the Drumcode regular. Containing five tracks that cover a circular range from pre-party ambiance to tripped-out melodic odyssey; vocal laced, chord driven hooks; barnstorming peak-time hammers; and 123bm afterparty grooves; there is more than the ‘usual’ Drumcode fare on offer within the aptly named ‘Life Through Different Eyes’ EP. A significant release for artist and label; the sonic incarnation of Fitzpatrick’s growing maturity as a producer and an indication as to the next evolution of the Drumcode sound.
