A short theme.  Uneasy and mysterious is what I was going for.

Personal Prison

Used two different types of piano sounds and meshed a whole bunch of other sounds together to create each layer of music.  There's a lot going on but hopefully it makes sense.  Still a work in progress though.

Lost Again

This piece is the first composition I've ever written where the piano is not the lead instrument and I'm still playing the other instrument (guitar) live.  With some added #markowitzmusic special effects I had test #27 for good luck.

Dream Land Suite

Composed by Pieter Schlosser, this piece is part of a competition to score the opening sequence to a new film, "In Saturn's Rings".  The goal of the competition was to score to/over the original composition by Schlosser.

This is the first piece that I composed using my new software and samples from my new home studio.  This is the same as the last time I posted it only with a few edits that I thought it needed.

First Glance

This was a score to a short independent film.  The name of the film is called Consistency.

Andy's Theme:Jane's Theme

I call this DownTown Walk cuz this is what I imagine that would be playing while walking down the street in the year 2027.  Just playing around trying something new with some synth sounds.  None of the samples I used were "loops" from a sample library including the drum track.

Hello, my name is Justin Markowitz.  I am 24 years old and I've been playing piano, taking lessons, and composing since age 3.  I recently graduated Cal State Northridge and majored in Music - Media Composition.  I hope to one day compose music for feature films and/or TV shows or even write pop songs for an artist or become one myself.  I recently started writing more "pop" type of songs and have opened up a new door in my creativity with writing lyrics.
