Not your average memorial track by any stretch, LA native Aryeh-Or skilfully weaves equal parts praise for the departed with scathing self-criticism in his latest single “R.I.P.SEY”. Aryeh-Or unabashedly admits to not being a Nipsey Hussle fan at all while he was still alive. “Ashamed to say I didn’t know. His name was new to me. The type of gangsta nigga I had grown to write off foolishly...” Only after his death did Aryeh-Or realise that the late rapper was actually his high school classmate! “Ermias! Holy shit! Real name hit me like a ton of bricks. Underneath the beard and the chain and the fame was the same kid I had homeroom with...”

Aryeh-Or goes on to examine how his own bias and projections kept him ignorant of the fact that a boy he’d once sat next to grew to become one of the greatest Los Angeles rappers ever to do do it. The track evolves through introspection and acknowledgement of Nipsey’s accomplishments and ends on a solemn promise to carry the torch and ensure that The Marathon Continues. R.I.P.SEY was co-produced by Aryeh-Or and Mike Balot who also attended high school with Nipsey and even attended elementary with widow Lauren London.
