Welcome to the first episode of Portal the Podcast in 2023. This month guest is italian DJ and producer Luigi Tozzi. He’s know for his deep and hypnotic sound with releases on Non Series, Hypnos Records or Outis. It’s his turn in the last 50 minutes with a crazy journey.

Laima Adelaide is a composer and electronic music producer. Her music is inspired by nature and its elements like water and air. Also, there is influence from avant-garde music, as she has studied classical composition in Stuttgart.

Noisy textures, deep hypnotic beats and airy harmony you can find in her music and live performances. She has released on Oslated, Phonotropsimi, Annulled Music and others.

She has her own label Predawn Records focusing on deep and ambient techno.

Here we share the recording of Marie Pravda's opening set of the night at her home club Ankali for the Archiv Teknologi event series.

Marie offered some insight into her set sharing that - 

"For me personally it was quite special time because I dont get to do openings so much lately and it is actually the best slot. No pressure, slowly going from ambient to more rhytmic stuff, keeping it steady and yet building up the energy. I had that moment when I looked in the crowd after some time and the club was full and people just locked in the music.   I am always hoping for a patient crowd so that was heartwarming to see"

Faixa-título do álbum, Terra Escura condensa a identidade sonora do projeto com intensidade e foco. Em meio a camadas densas e um clima noturno distorcido, Ritornello imprime riffs pulsantes que atravessam atmosferas carregadas industriais, sem perder a introspecção que marca sua estética.

A ambientação é crua, áspera, com texturas que remetem a lama, ferrugem e paisagens mentais desoladas. A estrutura techno se mantém firme e respira entre ruídos e silêncios.


The album's title track, Terra Escura, condenses the project's sound identity with intensity and focus. Amidst dense layers and a distorted nocturnal atmosphere, Ritornello prints pulsating riffs that traverse industrial-laden atmospheres, without losing the introspection that marks his aesthetic.

The ambiance is raw, rough, with textures that refer to mud, rust and desolate mental landscapes. The techno structure remains firm and breathes between noises and silences.

The unsettling terrain of Evigt Mörker's world can be broken up into a few frenetic parts that give the overall impression of a serene habitat. There's the otherworldly foreground of his techno works that are blissfully psychedelic as well as carefully structured for the most subtly disorientating shifts, and hovering amongst this is his wholesome grasp on the purpose and consequence of melody. Together, this is Evigt Mörker's deadly and addictive mix.

Hailing from Sweden, some initial forays into bands in his youth went hand-in-hand with an early exposure to techno. Yet it was the illegal rave scene in Stockholm that would prove to be most formative. The circuit of DJing and parties soon fed into the need to create a platform from which to work, and so the identity and label Evigt Mörker came into being in 2013. The first three releases cemented Evigt Mörker's ability to rouse melodic dynamics out of an ambient setting. Whether settling and fixating on a rhythmic pattern, or shuffling through different emotions, often these tracks would career into rapturous dancefloor pieces. It didn't take long until the formidable Semantica Records tapped him for a release, which produced the stunning EP, 'Helmet of Bones.' From this point, Evigt Mörker would come under the austere wing of Northern Electronics. Two terse yet incandescent EPs, along with a fourth release on his own label, have charged the air for his debut album, 'Krona'. Appearing on Northern Electronics, a brooding intensity defines the album, as well as a technical dexterity for carving dissonance into lush techno tools.

For those that have witnessed Evigt Mörker live or as DJ, a different side to his recorded output comes into play. Often far more forceful than his releases, there's an energetic and rhythmic power reserved for these moments. It's perhaps this versatility that's kept him in such high demand as a remixer. Taken to the other end of the spectrum, Evigt Mörker's live shows are capable of elegant ambient pieces, if holding a dancefloor down isn't the modus operandi.

I had the idea to start an own podcast series for quite a while now but I was a bit afraid to be honest. I wanted to keep it in a radio show format, as this is the format I grew up with and this was how I’ve discovered music. Also I wanted to do something different as I have a pretty wide range in music which I like. I get influenced by so many things so I thought it might be interesting for you to take this platform as the concept for a podcast. I will dig deeper and deeper through my collection of records and present it to you each month. It doesn’t matter how new or old the music is, it’s just about creating a good vibe to listen to, to enter another dimension.

Moreover the idea is also to invite guests, in irregular intervals - people I respect for what they are doing music wise and for the culture.
