Marley Carroll

An ambient symphony in three movements for chamber orchestra and electronics. An awakening and an ascension into the cosmos of every moment.
At its core, this work is about oneness in body and in the outdoors, if we let ourselves.
Field recordings taken from personal journeys to forests around the world are ever-present throughout and actively take a role in the music.
In the first movement, the observer is experiencing bliss to such a degree that the veil on their reality is pulled back and, calmly awestruck, they begin to float omnisciently around the golden riverbank at dusk, beholden to all of the actors in nature flowing through their evening routine until darkness settles.
In the second movement, the observer, now in an open meadow, starts to catch the twilight pulse of the effortless life motions occurring all around them, making acquaintance with their cyclical rhythms, drifting along and interchanging with their innate performances and aligning with their intentions.
In the third and final movement, feeling the comfort of natural harmony as one, the aligned beings take beautiful
solos and meshed counter-melodies to affirm their existence and express their personality, in full freedom and acceptance to just BE, until a storm sweeps through the valley to nurture life and bring in the dawn - and observer is released

Marley Carroll’s unassuming origins as a classically-trained percussionist were shattered after he took top honors at a statewide DJ battle at the prodigious age of 17. The experience catapulted him into notoriety and catalyzed his path towards career musicianship. In the intervening years he has evolved into a dynamic electronic music producer, world-class turntablist and captivating live performer with three full-length albums, multiple singles and remixes, and countless DJ sets in his cache.

Record producer, bass player and all round talented guy Nate08 hails from Mumbai, India where his solo work has made him a formidable presence's in India's independent music scene. Being influenced by jazz, RnB and hip hop he manages to strike a chord within a range of audiences with his upbeat tunes and manages to blend all of this into pop like electronic bangers. With features in DJ Mag, Nate08's clever blends and love for electronic music are getting him praise from some of the largest players in the scene. 

Marley Carroll’s unassuming origins as a classically-trained percussionist were shattered after he took top honors at a statewide DJ battle at the age of 17. A national tour in spring of 2019 brought a raw and improvisatory adaptation of the album to rapt audiences, combining live sampling, drum pads and looping with stunning and often unorthodox turntable skills. Marley has shared the stage with like-minded peers like Floating Points, Bonobo and Mura Masa and has appeared at groundbreaking music festivals, including Coachella, Decibel and Moogfest.

With a seasoning of Nate08 over the complex percussive sound that Marley Carroll does so well, the pair have produced a song fit for any party, poolside or afters. Stabby keys coupled with a waving pad and off beat atmospheric swirls create a beautiful base to Nate08's vocals with plenty of headroom. The beat cuts through perfectly and sets the scene in every section of the song, going from near break beats to a classic 4/4 giving each part its own individuality whilst still sounding like they belong together, paying homage to Carroll's expertise in percussion. This one is chilled out house brilliance and is more than enough to get you grooving

This song is still distinctly Nate08 with Marley's fantastic production and flair making for the perfect remix to an already great song.

As Maison Fauna’s introductory release, it is both a cross-genre synthesis and a statement of who we are. As a label, we always put music first; whether it be house, techno, or UK garage, you can expect the most refined selections from artists all over the world. The compilation, like the name suggests, guides you through the versatility innate to our artists and their work. This makes listening to the anthology akin to embarking on a sonic journey; listeners are transported to a world where the creativity of our artists is the only guide. We managed to pack the double LP with 19 tracks from 22 artists. As lovers of all forms of underground electronic music, this journey begins in a dark, ambient space. It then traverses several different variants of minimal, deep, and electro house, prior to concluding with both sample-heavy and melodic techno.

Marley Carroll’s auspicious start as a classically trained percussionist and award-winning turntablist propelled him into the limelight at an early age. Carroll’s signature style of exquisitely-detailed atmospheric dance music is adored by fans for its powerful emotional resonance and highly rated by peers who cite him as an abiding influence, evoking comparisons to genre luminaries like Four Tet and Caribou.

Onstage, he delivers a raw and improvisatory adaptation of his records to spellbound audiences, combining sampling, drum pads and live looping with expressive and unconventional turntable skills. He has shared stages with Floating Points, Bonobo and DJ Shadow and has notched acclaimed appearances at iconic music festivals like Coachella and LiB.

His 2022 EP, Voices, was inspired by the heartache of missing raving during lockdown and combined the driving intensity of the dance floor with the luminous nostalgia of late-night afters. Voices captured the attention of BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6, Radio Ibiza, KCRW and KEXP and became a dance floor staple and essential listening for fans of artists like DJ Seinfeld and Godford.

This year, he returns with the One More Year EP on Anjunadeep’s brand new Explorations imprint. Over the course of three lean, expertly-crafted UKG cuts brimming with evocative vocals and lush pads, Carroll explores a spectrum of emotions: pain and regret on the title cut, longing and love on “Falling,” and joy and gratitude on “Dearly Beloved.” One More Year has picked up support from deep house legends Above & Beyond with multiple appearances on their legendary Group Therapy DJ mix series.
