As 2020 comes to close we are taking stock of life as it compares to a year ago. Nothing was as it seemed then, and likely nothing is now either. We are all deep inside a massive collective psychedelic journey. Good trip bad trip, all our paths overlap. 

On our new album, out now, we explore the idea that we are at the crux of a significant leg of this journey.  Like that moment in most every trip when you are faced with a fear or anxiety and must make a decision on how to proceed, the crux presents both crisis and opportunity.

The featured track here, "Common Ground” is about finding a place for us all to meet in these divisive times in hopes that we can unify and find a path forward.

Cooperation, communication and dialogue are key to unity and resilience.

On the Crux album we are taking musical chances. Some of the most personal songs we’ve written mixed with raw sketched out ideas, to full blown improvised compositions. This is our way of processing the radical changes that have become routine for all of us. This album represents our subconscious hopes and fears for the time ahead. Marley Carroll’s auspicious start as a classically trained percussionist and award-winning turntablist propelled him into the limelight at an early age. Carroll’s signature style of exquisitely-detailed atmospheric dance music is adored by fans for its powerful emotional resonance and highly rated by peers who cite him as an abiding influence, evoking favorable comparisons to genre luminaries like Four Tet, Caribou and Boards of Canada.

Onstage, he delivers a raw and improvisatory adaptation of his records to spellbound audiences, combining sampling, drum pads and live looping with stunning and often unorthodox turntable skills. Like the best underground dance music of this era, Voices combines the driving intensity of the dance floor with the luminous nostalgia of late-night afters.
