Derrick played a very important roll in my educating Florida 2 thiz thing we call H.O.U.S.E.... he wuz 1 of my many Chicago supplierz when he worked @ thee infamous record shop Imports Etc.... along with Frankie Knuckles, Gary "JackMaster" Wallace & other'z.

The pic wuz from a gig he played @ Simon'z back in 94'... & later that night an after party @ the Loft which I have a on tape somewhere... but 4 now, enjoy thiz 60 min journey. Az alwayz, I edited Side A. with Side B. so tha rawness can keep rollin'!!")

 From the years he spent as resident DJ at the legendary HACIENDA, handing over after Laurent Garnier had it's national Service call up in 1988. He took the lead on the club for years with Mike Pickering and together, they made the Acid and House explosion!
Let's name a few label where he has some releases:Rush Hour,
Soma, Mute, Deconstruction... His current collaboration with Posthuman on I LOVE ACID parties and in a live concept with the duo called "This IS ACID", and what about Sasha who considers JON as his mentor into DJing approach ! All this, we can feel it in this set, obviously eclectic, well worked, deeply thought, merging with talent various electronic styles!  Enough said?! let's just enjoy the set ! (tracklist below)

2 Hours of Early Acid House Classics - DJ ACE

Right.....imagine 1993, imagine the basement in the music factory in Leeds.......and Huggy pumping his heavy electro/techno beats. This tape was bought on the night of the 2nd birthday party of backtobasics...think it was a fiver, there was also the Ralph Lawson tape they were selling....but can't find that one ..."yet". Basic's was THEE place to be and me and the pals had many memorable nights there.......what a place and what a club and as you will see with this mix from Huggy.......he knew the tunes to get the Basics basement crowd going!!!

For SESSIONS 22 we bring in a long time musical brother to step up, the one and only Kev Hutch. He's co-founder of the most excellent Solid Groove Social Club and has been putting on parties for the finest deep, soulful house and broken beat heads since the early 00s. This mix is a great example of that, some of the very best selections you could wish do hear and yet another testament to the music and scene we had the joy of being a part of in the North East of England.

Expect tracks from the late Phil Asher, Manuel Tur, Soul Renegades, Ron Trent, Metro Area, Manuel Tur and many more.
