Hi my name is marlon. This is my mix for the 2025 Subset event at MÄX. Thanks to the organizers for this amazing opportunity.

About me: I started enjoying DNB in 2018 and fairly quickly got into DJ´ing. With being a DJ comes playing at events which in Munich (my hometown) is quite difficult since there aren't many. Taking things into my own hand I bought a sound system and a generator, got some friends together and had some amazing raves. After that I moved to Romania and more or less played for myself, until I found some brilliant people that enjoyed DNB just as much as I did. They had started this Festival called Forest Beats, on a private property in the Romanian mountains.  If you have the chance and like DNB as much as we do, give it a try.

Future of Hollows is a descent through dystopia - a chronicle of collapse in four movements.

It begins with Future, where the world teeters on the edge of ruin. Dissonant bells ring like omens, foretelling a time of horror, decay, and irreversible silence. Hope is buried under ash.

Phyrgian follows - a mournful voice rising from scorched earth. The rhythm of poverty, the cry of forgotten lands, wrapped in Middle Eastern tonality and violent bass surges. A landscape where time decays, and humanity clings to remnants of meaning.

Then comes The Signal. A sound from beyond the stars pierces the skies. It’s not human. It’s not friendly. The alien presence is undeniable. Are they answering a call… or bringing the end? Reality fractures. The earth listens.

And at the end: The Sense. A fragile melody emerges from the debris - soft, distant, and shimmering. Is it the beginning of something new, or the final dream before extinction?

No answers are given. Only silence - and the sense that something still breathes in the dark.
