Going through your phone and stumbling across old pics of your ex makes you feel so isolated. Marlon and the Shakes captures this heart wrenching feeling in their latest R&B single, “Scrolling”.

This was our first release for the 12 in Twelve project!  It’s called “Hemisphere” and is appropriate for the times. It addresses the disinformation that many succumb to on social media and how that leads to war between two sides of the political spectrum.

“Shootin’ Shots’ is the 2nd release of Marlon and the Shakes’ 12 In Twelve project; a musical endeavor where the band commits to writing, recording, and releasing one song a month in 2021. “Shootin’ Shots” celebrates the underdogs who finally decide to take a chance at love. Marlon brought in some of the most talented Chicago musicians to collaborate on it, including vocalist Maggie Vagle (Sidewalk Chalk) and percussionist Chris Paquette. It’s a veritable 3 minute party for your ears!

Jealousy can drive a person out of their mind. “You make me crazy“ is a song about someone absolutely losing their shit at the thought of their significant other being with someone else.￼  It’s a veritable apology letter, filled with soul and steeped in rhythm and blues. ￼
