Annie Oakley (1860 – 1926) was an American sharpshooter who starred in Buffalo Bill's Wild West show. Oakley urged that women serve in war as she believed that women should learn to use a gun for the empowering image that it gave. She was a key influence in the creation of the image of the American cowgirl.

Reninentia (Latin for memory retention; recollection). From this concept, physicians needed to explore their patient’s retinentia in order to know their stories, health stories; they needed to guide their patients to remember the very beginning of the reason that brought them there where they were, searching for help. This way of recollecting data received a name, anamnesis.

The piece Retinentia uses electronic instruments with data of acoustic instruments. It is using non-vertical composition and using technology as an extension.  The voice does the modulation with repeats in different forms throughout the piece. Memory is a very particular element in music, and Retinentia is based on memory too. Echoes and computer diskettes are like memories. 

Retinentia plays with the gaslight effect: manipulation of doubt on an individual. It delegitimates memory. The words used in the piece are all directly related to the composers memory. It is an ode to memory, and trying to translate the composers memory to the listener.

Pitch and timbre wedges as compositional motivator. Shifting planes of sound masses are clearly perceived. When these sound masses collide, the phenomena of penetration will seem to be projected onto other planes, moving at different speeds and different angles. The entire work will be a melodic totality: it flows like the river flows.

Simple in the core, repeating with varying sounds upon it. Variations are subtle. A systematic rhythmic approach to a cyclic feeling. The electronic instruments are not used to manipulate the instrument, but the percussion instrument is used to manipulate the electronics.

In het leven van Veertje gebeurt iets raars. Ze is net 11 geworden en de wereld om haar heen lijkt te veranderen. De vertrouwde spulletjes in haar kamer, haar poppen en speelgoedkisten nemen haar mee op een avontuur waar ze anders uitkomt dan toen ze erin stapte.

Een beeldende, poëtische voorstelling waarbij poppenspel, miniatuurwerelden en liveprojectie je meenemen op een reis die iedereen ooit moet meemaken.

Adelheid is één van de nummers die Marnix Vinkenborg maakte voor de voorstelling Wijd Weg.
