Heracleion - First Three Tracks

This piece started as a progression I stumbled on while playing with a Hammond B3 organ VST, and over the course of months, grew into this epic you hear now. I hope you will enjoy listening.

B E T R A Y A L (with Daniel Lockhart)

This is the latest song from the album Wou-Wou & the Wormling, Stricknice, Bitzone, and I have been working on. Like all the rest of the songs in the set, this one began during the start of the pandemic and reflects the changes in political perspective that were happening in society, and continue to this day. And, as with the other songs, I started this song with an unreleased demo from Wou-Wou and created a 1 minute outline which I then often passed on to a guest collaborator. When it came time to fully work on the track, I expanded on the original idea, along with the guest collaborator stems, until a full song was arranged. I then passed the bones and organs of the song to Stricknice and Bitzone to add any additional muscles and flesh they believed in until it was finished. I am so blessed to work with Wou-Wou, Bitzone, Stricknice, and all the guest collaborators on this inspired set, that one day will be complete. 

May everyone find something authentic to themselves to believe in.

The older I get the more I realise that the Stairway to Heaven is not an easy path. It is steep and has many pitfalls, many that I have fallen on and many that still allude me. The path is littered with pain and heartache, and no one gets in unless they truly have tried to overcome the pain and hardship of this crazy world. How much Pain do we have to Pay to get inside the Perly gates and is it wort it? I cant answer this one but my song tries to contemplate the trials and tribulations of Life at the moment and asks the question. “When does the bad stuff stop and when does the God stuff start?”

Composition – The Eclectic Collective

This song began its life as a hauntingly exquisite guitar chord progression that Tez came up with and shared with the rest of us. He also stacked a couple of other guitar tracks in there for good measure. Ken was first up, adding his drums, then later his pots and pans percussion. As he was doing that, Josh was coming up with his bass line, and they did their little dance of back and forth until the rhythm section was set. Mark came in around the same time, though, and added his unique, Waitsian vocals with the lyrics that he wrote for it, too. He also added some really amazing organ parts, a toy piano which you can hear right after the banjo solo, and percussion that add a solid foundation for his voice and add magic throughout the song. Stephen followed shortly after with the big stroke guitar chords, and also came up with the amazing banjo solo you hear in there, too. Last, but not least, JJ came in with his organ and electric piano to seal the deal with the melodies and ambience. Then he and Mark added the cool sound effects you hear throughout, too.
  Every great song needs a great producer, and Mark filled the duty on this one. He has proved himself to be a masterful editor, producer, and mixer, and we are lucky to have him as part of the team.
  This one is an homage to Tom Waits in a deliberate way. We're all big fans, and tried to do something in his unique style. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed creating it.
