With the 10th ndyuka podcast i got inspired to dig a bit deeper into my heritage, which leads me to the West African country Ghana. A lot Surinamese Marrons are Akan descendants from Ghana and the roots are still visible in the language and way of living. It is truly amazing to see that the foundation of the culture is so strong that it lives on forever. 

Abusuafo) means Family in ashanti (ghanian dialect). With Ghana and the Afro Surinamese people being connected so closely, this is the keyword translated from this podcast. 

I've tried to mix this set a bit different than usual. Emphasizing different flows in the set without losing energy but still capture ways of consistency.

His sound is hypnotic, energetic and full of fast rolling rhythms. To connect with people but also to disconnect from reality. On the dance floor he becomes one with the audience and establishing a dialogue between them. It is a language that leaves space to interpret your own story.

He wants the audience to get hypnotize by the sound, enter that euphoric state of consciousness and not wanting to stop dancing.

I am usually not a fan of sharing online the experience of a live set. The emotion, energy and aurea of that moment is something that cannot be grasped with a simple click. 
However, since the moment I touched the decks during this mix, I intuitively knew it was going to be something special… something which I would be happy for those who were not there to partially feel, listen and enjoy. This set includes a selection of my favorite tracks from this year -some older some newer- and all fundamental to create a linear, coherent story.

This means ‘Powerful Culture’ in Sranan Tongo which is the native Surinamese language. This title says everything about my approach to this mix, as i've recorded it with a closing state of mind. I truly believe that even when playing a bit more direct and faster the essential of groove and rhythm should always be the key element and should never fade away for the sake of just banging out hard tracks. This mix is recorded at 144-146 BPM which is the fastest i’ve played in my podcasts so far. Dedicated to all the people that has supported me heavy throughout this year. You are all being heard and i appreciate all of you guys.

With this mix i've emphasized all the basics i find needed in my sets.
