RPG Maker MV OST - Endless Battle

This song is based on melodies originally written by Phantom7, Afilion, and the SSBC sound team.

Earlier in the year- around about April or so- I was contacted by the dev team of Super Smash Bros. Crusade, a 2D fan made Smash Bros. game, and commissioned to produce a track for use in the game's various menus. They specifically wanted a version of the title's main theme song that sounded "especially 90s" and, well, that's what I do best innit? 

Jumping off of that base idea, I figured the best kind of vibe would be to go for something that sounded like it could've come from a late 90s fighting game, and drew specific inspiration from the soundtracks to the Street Fighter EX games- personal favourites of mine for many years- and the sort of music that SNK's in house band, Shinsekai Gakkyoku Zatsugidan, was writing for things like the King of Fighters series. The title of the track is itself a bit of a reference to the KOF series, both in it's numbering convention (the '99 is short for 1999), and borrowing the "dream match" moniker the series is known for coining (which is a term used for fighting games where plot canon and logistics are disregarded in favour of having characters from various properties get together for some good ol' fashioned fisticuffs).
