Can you believe it? Fall of 2014 marks the 20TH ANNIVERSARY of YOSHITOSHI, the seminal record label founded by Deep Dish in 1994. To celebrate, we are bringing the classics back, remastered and with new remixes from an amazing group of heavy hitters from all corners of the dance world. Given that Yoshitoshi's roots are ingrained in house music, it's only fitting to start the #YoshiClassics campaign with Eddie Amador's "House Music". A true Yoshitoshi classic released in 1998 that went on to become a global phenomena. The hypnotic rhythm and infectious "Not Everyone Understands House Music" has become the preach anthem for generations of dance music lovers. Uto Karem, Robosonic & Anthony Attalla on Remix duties! Eddie Amador - House Music (Message Mix)[OUT NOW]

Here is the debut EP from Manchester producers Tom Lonsboroough and Col Hamilton, known as 2 Billion Beats with the Musics Alfresco EP.


Things kick things off with the uptempo ‘The Moodymann’, a funk fuelled cut of bottom heavy laden disco house. Retro synth bass with an acidic twist, rolling house rhythms and keys create a melodic yet dancefloor orientated vibe and a slightly old school feel. 

Next up, ‘Secret Sub Disco’ journeys into more laid back disco territory with layers of melody washing over bubbling bass and relaxed rhythms to create a decidedly chilled vibe with some added in some acidic arpeggiated lines. 

Finally 2 Billion Beats deliver ‘Lunar’, a deep and delightful slice of balaeric tinged house built around bass stabs, breaks and a rolling Rhodes key loop.

Detroit Swindle - Pursuit (128kps)

Detroit Swindle – AKA – Lars Dales and Maarten Smeets are back with their first new material in a year and it’s great!

The two have been making waves, particularly in the UK over the past month and it’s excellent to have them back in full swing. From bringing their own ‘Great Escape’ party to Leeds to performing an endearing set at Fabric on Valentines day, it seems like almost the perfect time to bring you an exclusive first listen to the pairs brand new ‘The Punch Drunk EP’

The extended play leads off with ‘Allright (We’ll Be)’ a feel-good slice of future-retro discoid filter vocal house. The Dutch duo have nothing to do with Detroit – or techno – but have crafted a track that plays like a classic Nervous or Strictly Rhythm soundtrack.

Second track ‘Pursuit’ is more of chuggy, deeper track enthusing smooth, melodic synth pads, deep, groovy low-end sounds and easy-listening piano chords.

The EP is set for release through the duo’s own label Heist Recordings on the 23rd February and will be available through all major music distribution sites.
