my mic makes this nice noise-cancelling white noise effect which makes it pick up only what I'm barfing into it, but also creates a lot of white noise. It does this even when the mic is turned off.

What are we making music for? I can't really see myself dancing to this; it's not dance music. And you wouldn't play it in a club; it's not club music. 
What is, like, rock music for? It's just kind of to rock out to. I don't mean songs with a message. Like, what are most house songs? A lot of them don't even tell a story. It's just like, music for masturbation. 

That's kind of interesting. 

Note to self: Export drums as separate track and autoduck. 

I think I have an idea what music is for: if not to share a story, to share a feeling. To share a textural experience.
