this is just my attempt to love brothers and sisters who are hurting from lots of hate, or representation of hate, from this past week

My sister sitting next to me is crying
From the tabloids and television screens 
The white men in their suits are making violence 
While they sit home and dare to intervene 

I only wish I'd help to fill the silence

If only we could fight off all the tyrants
Maybe kids would  sleep in their own beds

My brother said there ain't no sense in trying
said our hearts have all been doing this for years
