Here's a quick lesson in modern history:
In 2008 Nigerian born, Toronto raised MC Isis Salam was propelled into the spotlight. Thunderheist, an Electro-Rap duo, brought a singular and radical sound to the electronic music scene that became Isis’ stage. Instantly gaining respect from their peers Isis had the opportunity to collaborate with musical heavyweights Tyree Cooper, Pharell and Junky XL. In 2009, break-through performances with Noreaga on Jimmy Kimmel Live and Perez Hilton’s SXSW Showcase supporting Kanye West launched her up into the stratosphere.

But don't get it twisted . This ever so versatile chameleon is not only an emcee , a vocalist and a dance foor diva she is also now being recognized as a producer in her own right. ISIS SALAM's live set is a pure on-stage evolution: opening with deep-breathing, bass- heavy house; it morphs into sexified nu-disco before growing into a full-blown dance party. She is accompanied on stage by DJ Eluize a dark and mysterious vixen, who controls the knobs and decks providing you with everything you could ask for and just that little bit more.

Fast forward to 2014 and ISIS SALAM, now residing in the epicentre of the electronic scene, Berlin, collided with the minds of German duo Kruse & Nuerenberg. The first of many love child's “Let Go” is the first product from this encounter and sets a standard of what’s to come. Both born and raised in a rural area near Hamburg, Florian Kruse and Nils Nuernberg embrace the new breed of German artists who create bass-heavy, disco inflected house music, propagating a certain excitement and energy, that the world has been waiting for.

Let Go translates to video with colour, energy and urban concrete as well as Isis Salam with pure dance evolution replete with two Tasmanian dancing devils. Isis and her dancers ooze style taking in Berlin's backdrop as a starting point for their infectious dancing moving effortlessly through Berlin’s streets and stores, with a brief cameo appearance from Kruse & Nuernberg who, like in real life keep the music bumpin! This is entertainment: spotlight on, mic check 1-2 - a full-blown dance party, on screen with sound.

The Blue Ep lays down 2 very cool deep house tracks with a great selection of vocals and grooves.

On Remix duties we are excited to welcome Matches, this guy is already very popular from his tracks and remixes with Danny Daze and after featuring on Noir, Toolroom, Defected & Draft this guy is literally about to blow up onto the scene in a big way! His style of cool crisp and really well produced house has seen him making big waves from over in Miami and with this remix he is on form, taking the lead track from the depths of deep into a mainroom groover.

On the B-side Martijn label head and artist of Neurotraxx Deluxe & Save Room provides a remix of “Still Got It” adding a touch of pace to the slowed vocal track and dubbing down the vocal giving the lush use of chords time to breath and roll over the new added groove.

HOLIC Trax was founded in 2012 by London based Japanese DJ/Producer Tomoki Tamura as part of the HOLIC music event and now serves up its fifth release from none other than Detroit music making machine Rick Wade of Harmonie Park and Moods & Grooves association. His Hard Full EP comes in two versions, the first featuring three tracks on limited, 10” coloured vinyl and the second digitally, both of which feature different tracklists as detailed below. 
 
Both vinyl and digital releases will open with the title track, Hard Full. Sounding like a classic Wade cut right from the off, squelchy drums turn over and over to lock you in place before typically elegant string samples sweep up through the mix and really set it off.  
 
‘Deep Subliminal’ also features on the vinyl, and kicks that bit harder and firmer with splashing claps and a gentle tumble of toms and congas that imbue the track with a tropical tribalism. The last vinyl exclusive is Pyro Dynamics with its nagging bass synth line, dreamy sunny day melodies and locked in place, heavyweight drums. A real charmer! 
 
Digital purchasers on the other hand get treated to an exclusive in the form of ‘Detroit Suspense’, which wiggles and burrows its way into a deep groove endlessly and effortlessly. The percussion glistens as it slices up and down and this time its languorous late night chords and future facing pads that colour the spaces in between.  
 
Like anything to which Wade puts his name, these are economical yet efficient tracks that really hypnotise you at the same time as reaching for your heart strings. Following releases from Mr G, Tucillo and Chris Carrier, HOLIC is in a fine run of form.
