BOW is a project created by Dutch musician Martijn Balsters. CITY RACE contains eleven heavy songs, with lyrics about life and all its struggles in a nearby future city as a common theme. BOW is a tip off the hat to all the metal bands that made their mark in the world of heaviness, featuring guest performances of members from Annihilator, The Monolith Deathcult, Lucifericon & The Dust Connection.

THE FLOW is a guitar piece where the music goes through gentle modulations in a continuous stream of moods. It flows along different sections, some soft, some strong. It’s like the river I live next to, that has passed three different countries and many different places, it’s like my life’s experiences, the styles of music I came across, the feelings it tapped into…

In a dream-like world this track finds it's place, in a way it made me think of the surrealist works from the twentieth century by artists like Dali, Magritte, de Chirico, and Dutch painter Carel Willink, for whose nephew I have worked as architect. I hope I can take you along this little dream journey...

This is a line from a song by Van Halen, Panama, describing a spectacular vehicle. I think Van Halen's music is exactly about this, exitement, fast, bombastic, wild and extravagant, and deliberately vulgar. Much of it really belongs to the Eighties, both in composition as in sound.
In memory of Eddie Van Halen I am trying to bring this to life in this song, filled with Van Halen-isms.

I hope you can enjoy this tribute and that it will make you think of him and his joyful, loud and exuberant music.
