I've heard this song x1000 times, and In my opinion this is one of the best tech-house tracks out there. Big follower Martin, keep up the good work.

Moodmusic are proud to present the debut LP from Martin Dawson 'Sunday Smoking'. Having just started releasing under his own name in 2010, 'Sunday Smoking' is the release that develops the growing relationship between Martin and Sasse's Moodmusic label. From the slower melancholic mood of 'Is This Goodbye?' to the hypnotic drive of Morning Glory, this LP highlights the style Martin has been developing in recent months with deep, warm sounds through a house and techno mentality. Of the release Martin says "It's funny because it was not my original intention to work on an album in this sense but after a very busy 12 months in the studio I sort of fell onto it. And the support and enthusiasm of Sasse added more fuel to the studio fire. As a collection of tracks this LP goes a long way to represent the sound I enjoy playing in the clubs!" Martin released his first album 'Chapters' as King Roc in 2009 with critical acclaim and the success of this was highlighted with the nomination for best producer in DJ mag. Also known as one half of Two Armadillos, you can hear the influence working with Giles has had on Martin's studio work and by the time this LP drops it will have seen a 12 month period with Martin releasing with some the most respected underground labels such as Cocoon, Get Physical, Crosstown Rebels, 2020vision, Kling Klong, Off and of course Moodmusic. A continuing international touring schedule that includes Central and South America, Australia, Asia and throughout Europe and the development of the 'Sunday Smoking' part to his live shows will be taking this album sound across the globe.

Sunday Smoking

It's been so long since Italy was the major exporter of spacey disco jams that the term "Italo" might seem like an odd misnomer (especially for those of us closer in age to Italian schizo-electro groups Crookers and Bloody Beetroots than pioneers like Giorgio Moroder). But with two new releases at the end of 2011, burgeoning imprint Danny Was a Drag King—originally a disco offshoot of Hell Yeah Records—seems to be re-staking the nation's claim to sexy synth licks and drum-machine-powered four-on-the-floor. Later this month, DWDK will release Puralana by Rome-based producer Luminodisco, which features this deep, DFA-esque tune, hot on the heels of the recently released Smells Like Too Cheesy by fellow Italians Ajello.

Discotexas return with Mirror People’s sterling ‘Kaleidoscope’ featuring a limited coloured vinyl release and a brand new remix from the excellent Psychemagik…

Rui Maia AKA Mirror People has been one of the hottest producers to come out of Portugal in recent years with a string of stunning releases on highly respected labels such as Permanent Vacation, Bear Funk, Hands of Time and of course eclectic disco merchants Discotexas. Now he is back on the imprint owned Moullinex and Xinobi with the superb ‘Kaleidoscope’ that will be receiving a vinyl release for the first time and features a brand new mix from Psychemagik.

The release kicks off with the original version of ‘Kaleidoscope’ a bubbling and funk fuelled disco outing that pulls together dramatic keys, a classic disco B-line and a myriad of heart warming melodic elements to create a sumptuous production that is genuinely timeless, quality stuff. The original version is followed by a remix from label boss Xinobi who turns in a superb reworking flush with bright piano stabs and stirring brass parts for an alternative that retains the original character whilst stamping it’s own mark on things.

Next up we have a brand new version of ‘Kaleidoscope’ from highly respected UK production duo Psychemagik. Tom & Danny, the faces behind the name, have been burning bright for some time with a string of outstanding single, remixes and exclusive edits helping them ascend to exhalted heights in recent months. Here they take the original track deliver a delightfully uplifting yet understated melodic mix that plays on arpeggiated synth lines, rich warm bass and shuffling percussion, simply sublime. The EP is closed with Mirror People’s ‘Machines’, a techy and taut production that reflects its title.
