Many years ago, I introduced a new format that alongside our regular episodes called “Lessons for Hannah.”  Hannah is my daughter and one of the main inspirations for the Misfit Entrepreneur.  I wanted to have a place where she could go and learn from her daddy and his Misfit friends throughout her life….even after I am gone.  If you haven’t listened to the first episode of "Lessons for Hannah,"  I urge you to as it gives some more background and tells the amazing story of how Hannah came to be in our lives.

Lessons for Hannah are short, very useful, and sometimes comical lessons, that I want to share with you and give to Hannah to help in your lives.  Because I want Hannah to have these for her life, I’m going to speak as though I am talking directly to her. Big Al is one of the UK's most respected dance music figures. From his first gig in 1982 at his local youth club, to the present day he has played more than a 3 thousand gigs, which has earned him recognition and respect from all the scenes premier league DJ's.

His innovative and infectious sets have not gone unnoticed by the media. In 1999 he was picked as one of Muzik magazine's 'New Faces', alongside Guy Ornadel and Yousef, later that year he went on to mix the cover CD for Club On magazine. 
In 2002 Al was awarded the title of 'Best Progressive House DJ' by the Music Academy of Wales and defended that very same title in 2003. 
August 2003, Radio 1 announced Big Al as the 'Best UK resident DJ', voted for by the listeners of Radio 1, subsequently Big Al kicked off Creamfields, on the Radio 1 outdoor stage to a reported 37,000 clubbers…

Earlier that summer Big Al played the closing set at 'Escape into the Park 2003' Wales' largest outdoor dance festival, attracting a crowd of 25,000 revellers to Swansea's Singleton Park. This has been an annual event for Al since its launch in 2000.
2004 started off with another award, this time he was voted Best Trance DJ by the South Wales Dance Music Peoples Award, followed shortly by the start of his radio show on Vibe FM, a show dedicated to house & trance. In that same year, Al made his debut at Judge Jules' infamous Judgement Sunday at Eden in Ibiza. Since then he has returned each year playing to a capacity crowd at one of the island busiest and most respected nights.
September 2006 proved to be Big Al's most prolific time in his career, with Vibe FM being taken over by media giant's EMAP. He was asked to join the legendary Kiss FM team, according to RAJAR his Friday night show was the most listened to dance show across South Wales & The West, keeping him at the Number 1 spot for his entire stay at Kiss...
Following his departure from Kiss, Big Al hosted the weekly ‘The Sound Of Escape’ podcast. Launched in 2012, his Sound Of Escape podcast appeared for 27 consecutive weeks in the iTunes ‘New and Noteworthy’ section as well as receiving tens of thousands of downloads per month.

Big Al Joined the team at Club Oxygen between 2013 and 2016 as Resident DJ, Promoter & Talent Booker, working with talent such as Laidback Luke, Radio 1's Danny Howard, Mark Knight, Eddie Halliwell, Hannah Wants, Danny Dyer, Gareth Emery & Robin S.

His faultless mixing and perfect programming has earned him plays all over the world from South America to Asia including Judgement Sunday's - Ibiza, Pacha - Buenos Aires, Babyface - China, the official ‘Michael Jackson Forever’ after show party, a 3 year residency at Liquid Cardiff, and a residency at Welsh super club Escape that has spanned over 15 years...
It would be fair to say that every person who has seen him play, have all been blown away by the control and effect he has on the dancefloor. He is renowned for his ability to seamlessly blend all genres of electronic music and keep the crowd coming back for more...
