Solid Grooves Records co-founder Michael Bibi partners alongside KinAhau for 'Different Side', featuring genre-spanning electronic duo Audio Bullys. 

Needing little introduction for both track and artists involved, Solid Grooves opens 2023 with one of the most highly anticipated ID requests from founder Michael Bibi's sets across the past 18 months. An instantly recognisable production which has soundtracked nights at The Grooves Motel at DC-10 through to ELOVATE events across the globe in London, New York, Buenos Aires and Tulum, early March finally sees the release of 'Different Sides' as Bibi partners with emerging Mexican DJ/producer and Solid Grooves artist Kinahau for the impactful 'Different Side' - featuring UK dance mainstays Audio Bullys.

Harnessing iconic vocal from Audio Bullys' 2003 single 'We Don't Care', Bibi and Kinahau transport things into a new realm across 'Different Sides', employing skippy drums, icy hats and a menacing bassline - coupled with a few signature percussion fills - for a peak-time anthem loaded with energy.

Echoing the excitement that surrounded his No.1 hit My Love, which shot him to stardom, the record has been in serious demand for months. Rowan Jones aka Route 94 explains how he wanted to “put out three tracks that were diverse yet definitive.” Title track House & Pressure packs a real punch and contains the vocals from Joey Negro's classic Ride the Storm featuring Linda Clifford. The dominant female vocal on ‘House & Pressure’ combined with the force of the drum machines is a traditional element that people connect to the Route 94 productions. With ‘Crazy Bitch’ it’s a more of a big room sound, incorporating ghetto elements. ‘Dark Keyless’ is the complete opposite, creating a groove that aims to grab the crowd and let them loose.

This year has seen a succession of big releases and remixes from Route 94 that cement his place amongst the dance music elite including the recent hit Mind, Body & Soul on Crosstown Rebels. The talented producer first saw fame reaching No.1 in the UK charts with My Love featuring Jess Glynne. Keen to remain on the underground scene, he followed with releases and remixes on Leftroom, Defected and Hot Creations. Overwhelming success followed as he performed at the likes of fabric, Sub Club, Space, Ushuaia, DC10 and many more. With a wealth of new material still on the way and a hectic touring schedule in place, it’s clear this is only the start for the young artist.

DJ’ing since 1990 and Producing music since 1991, Martin Ikin previously known as;  DJ Mayhem, Indigo, Soul Purpose, Migrant.. and loads more, has spent his life releasing records on many labels and under many aliases. Martin's remix credentials include names such as Mariah Carey, Jamiroquai, Joey Negro, MAW, Grant Nelson, Hardsoul and many more...
Trained studio engineer and jazz pianist Martin stepped away from producing and engineering for others and launched his own label Soul Purpose Records in 2003, as a stable for his own productions.
2005 saw Martin adopted his label name "Soul Purpose" as his DJ & Production/Remix moniker, dropping the old school "Mayhem" tag from the early 1990's 
Now Djing & Producing using his real name for the first time ever! Martin kicks of with a Monster release on Andre Crom's OFF Recordings. Watch out for lots of brand new music coming from Martin on some of the biggest labels in the game including more on the mighty OFF Recordings.
As a musician and producer Martin draws his musical influences from the likes of Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, Oscar Peterson, Azymuth, Donny Hathaway, Jeff Lorber, Roy Ayers and legendary house masters like Mr Fingers, Marshall Jefferson, Derek May & Kevin Saunderson.
