Shadow Child and Kry Wolf’s Food Music has gained a reputation since its inception for consistently supporting new and exciting sounds across the bass music spectrum, and that is set to continue with the release of the long-awaited ‘Girls/Breathe’ EP from Food fan favourites Hannah Wants & Chris Lorenzo.
Hannah Wants & Chris Lorenzo are the Birmingham-based duo behind ‘Dappy’, the immense bass house track that made waves across the UK dance scene and received a DJ Mag Best of British nomination for ‘Best Tune’. Hannah Wants’s bi-monthly mixtape series has gained an almost legendary status, while Chris Lorenzo has made his name collaborating with the likes of Pete Graham and as part of the duo Cause & Affect. Both Hannah and Chris also regularly appear at Birmingham’s seminal 10:31 and 2:31 club nights, cementing their standing as two of the scene’s most exciting names right now.
Although the duo have become notorious for their hard-hitting sound, ‘Girls’ and ‘Breathe’ show off a slightly different side to Hannah and Chris. First up is ‘Girls’, which uses samples from an R’n’B classic to create an intense, moody track with a driving bassline. 

On the flip, ‘Breathe’ may surprise listeners at first with its airy and atmospheric pads, but soon returns to more familiar territory with an 808-style bottom line that will get the floor bouncing.

Dropping just in time for summer, both ‘Girls’ and ‘Breathe’ will be met with excitement from fans and DJs alike, as Hannah and Chris continue to mold their own unique sound.

 Born in Brooklyn, New York, Alexander East has been making music all his life. When he was young he taught himself how to play many different musical instruments and sing. His voice is one of the most recognized voices in house music due to his prolific output with some of the best producers in the game over the years. After spending his early years in the recording studio, he learned how to produce and engineer his own works. Alexander has now made a name for himself on a world wide scale with appearances on many respected record labels including his own Planet East Recordings. His voice is known the world over in house music circles, and he brings that world class sound to his remix.

Starting his off a little slower, a little more laid back. It comes in using some great shaker percussion that takes its time to lead you into the music, kinda takes ya on a stroll to a peaceful waterfall. It builds gently, gathering steam and energy and before long a full on groove has arrived in force and you are definitely heading to the dancefloor.  For his bassline, he has steered into the more techy side of things, with a little afro soul flair in there as well. His engineering on the bassline is a more modern tech approach, with a more driving feel, a great bounce, and lays a solid foundation. The pieces come together seamlessly, and it bumps and shimmies and makes ya wanna move your feet.  The swirling vocal has been used to create a beautiful atmosphere, swirling around up above, while he brings in the dusty keys and swingin hi-hats he is known for. Combine that with his rock solid musical ability, this track attains some solid techy vibes with a side of soulful house for flavor.   Alexander's studio chops are on full display with his drums and song construction and energy.   All three tracks have their own flavor and distinct vibe. Each made with a love for house music that runs deep in the veins of everyone involved. The passion shines through loud and clear with the latest offering from Housetown Recordings. Put it in your crate!

DJ’ing since 1990 and Producing music since 1991, Martin Ikin previously known as;  DJ Mayhem, Indigo, Soul Purpose, Migrant.. and loads more, has spent his life releasing records on many labels and under many aliases. Including, Defected, Nervous, OFF, Get Physical, Exploited, Zrecords, 3Beat, MOS, SwingCity, Hed Kandi, Soulfuric, Sony, Island, Atlantic..etc etc.
Martin's remix credentials include names such as Mariah Carey, Jamiroquai, Joey Negro, MAW, Grant Nelson, Hardsoul and many more...
Trained studio engineer and jazz pianist Martin stepped away from producing and engineering for others and launched his own label Soul Purpose Records in 2003, as a stable for his own productions.
2005 saw Martin adopted his label name "Soul Purpose" as his DJ & Production/Remix moniker, dropping the old school "Mayhem" tag from the early 1990's 
Now Djing & Producing using his real name for the first time ever! Martin kicks of with a Monster release on Andre Crom's OFF Recordings. Watch out for lots of brand new music coming from Martin on some of the biggest labels in the game including more on the mighty OFF Recordings.
As a musician and producer Martin draws his musical influences from the likes of Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, Oscar Peterson, Azymuth, Donny Hathaway, Jeff Lorber, Roy Ayers and legendary house masters like Mr Fingers, Marshall Jefferson, Derek May & Kevin Saunderson.
