Maor Levi had been hallmarked for great things ever since his prog trancer ‘Lital’ gave us our first insight into the skills of this prodigiously talented producer back in 2005. Now he returns in 2010 with ‘Chasing Love’. Enlisting the help of Ashley Tomberlin, another who is no stranger to Anjuna followers having previously lent her atmospheric vocals to heavyweight tracks such as Luminary’s ‘Amsterdam’ and Above & Beyond’s ‘Can’t Sleep’, perhaps it was inevitable that this inspired collaboration would be a smash.

The Original Mix, as featured on Above & Beyond’s Anjunabeats Volume 8, synthesises Maor’s trademark edgy sound with a gorgeous, airy vocal floating off the top of a magical, swirling spiral of melodies and purposeful bottom end. The Club Mix then sees Maor rework the track for dancefloor destruction with a dense, heavy groove and more orthodox peak-time structure. And to complete, Laurent Véronnez dons his Airwave hat for a beautifully brooding, darkly atmospheric breakbeat rework with echoes of classic Hybrid about it.

OceanLab’s ‘On A Good Day’ originally featured on the 2008 LP ‘Sirens Of The Sea’, an album that reached #1 in the US iTunes dance chart, and was lauded in respected publications such as Mixmag and DJ Magazine. 

‘On A Good Day’ remained a firm favourite in the sets of Above &amp; Beyond – eventually receiving another lease of life when its vocals were married with Gareth Emery’s ‘Metropolis’ as a DJ bootleg by Hungarian duo Myon &amp; Shane 54.

After picking up mainstream radio support from Radio 1, ‘On A Good Day (Metropolis)’ is now being released alongside a drum &amp; bass rework from scene stalwarts J Majik and Wickaman (known for their uplifting, club-smashing remix of Deadmau5’s chart hit ‘I Remember’), which has already been hammered by Andy C, Chrissy Chris (1 Xtra), Radio 1’s Grooverider, Hype, Judge Jules and Adam F. A previously unreleased acoustic version will feature as iTunes exclusive track.

Tapping into the vocal’s narrative of triumph over adversity, the official music video centres on the story of Detroit’s Georgia Street Community Collective, and their drive to regenerate the derelict buildings and industrial graveyards of Detroit and transform them into urban farms and community gardens.

Cerf, Mitiska &amp; Jaren land the next out-of-the-box gem of their ‘Give Me A Sound’ album, inviting Dutch producer Fine Taste on the ride called ‘Ready For Go’. Who’s ready for some prog-house play?

The C,M&amp;J trio have certainly taken their time. 5 years after their  breakthrough with ‘Light The Skies’, the two US producers and singer Jaren finally revealed their highly anticipated debut album. And a warm welcome was given. ‘Give Me A Sound’, crossing the borders of pop, house and prog, has something in stores for all genre-lovers. A specialty of Dutch producer Fine Taste, ‘Ready For Go’ rides diversity in the shape of funky progressive beats, a warm, playful melody and Jaren’s characteristic vocals. A tune that gets stuck on repeat before you know it.
