"Playing varying roles in a number of bands through the years, Martin would turn his hand to almost any instrument. Whether it was keyboards, piano, bass, rhythm, or lead guitar he would take up whatever role he could in any band gaining himself an eclectic combination of influences and styles of playing and writing. Martin's multi instrumental skills would prove useful when he entered the studio in early 2021 after a period of around five years away from the music business to record his first collection of songs as a solo artist playing all instruments himself apart from drums which were played by long term band collaborator Chris Kelly.


Martin cites a broad collection of artists as influences on his style of writing and performing such as Queen, Thin Lizzy, Fleetwood Mac, Manic Street Preachers, Prince and Lenny Kravitz."
