Paradoxical Undressing

A song about having terrible self-esteem! I recorded this back in 2009. I still really like the vocal sound but I'm not at all happy with how I recorded and played the guitars. I would do the bass and guitars completely differently if I were recording this now. Still, I like some of the melodic fragments I came up with on guitar.

Given Up

This is a sketch of an idea, recorded in 2008, and felt like a dead end so I didn't develop it further. It's inspired by the Seal song of the same name, but I think it's different enough at every level that it doesn't count as a cover version.

Bring It On

A car-chase theme combining the sounds of analogue synthesisers and disco instruments. "He's a maverick street detective, but he gets results." Best listened to while sliding urgently across the bonnet of a Ford Cortina wearing at least two pairs of sunglasses.

This was intended to become a song, but in place of a sung melody there is a trumpet sound.
Created in about 1993 on a Yamaha SY77 synthesiser workstation.
The enormous stereo chordal sound in the chorus was created with two electric piano sounds, panned either side with a stadium-sized delay between them.

I'm using this channel mainly for synth-pop experiments I did years ago. I now use a modern computer-based system, but the older music is made with dedicated synth and sampler hardware. My main acoustic/electronic and pseudoacoustic music is done under the name Coma Pilot. I also create comedy music under the name The Glandscape Hardeners. I am also working on electronic abstract or dance music that I haven't got an artist name for. This (arguably better) music will not appear on this profile, but stick around if you are into 80s and 90s synth pop.
