This is a mix from Phil Morse and Terry Pointon, creators of Manchesters longest running clubnight, Tangled. Phil and Terry were the residents in the main room of the Phoenix from 1997 - 2006, playing a euphoric mix of house and trance. This mix is from 2003 and was given out on Tangled's 10th birthday.

This mix has just been dug from the vaults of Tangled. Its a non-stop mix of classic tunes that shaped the sound of the upstairs room of the Phoenix where Manchesters longest running clubnight was held every week from 1997 - 2006. Tangled is a 2 room clubnight with room1 playing house, techno and trance and room2 playing a funky variety of bass infused breaks and beats. This mix was given out on the 12th birthday at the Phoenix back in 2005.

Tangled Breaks 12th Birthday Classics  2005

This mix was the first ever mix CD given out as a gift to all the Tangled Breaks clubbers who attended Tangled at the Phoenix in 1999. This mix is packed full of amazing breaks tunes that were coming out at the time. When TCR, Botchit & Scarper and Marine Parade ruled the roost! Tracklist to follow...

Here is one of my breaks mixes from Tangled Breaks at the legendary Phoenix, Manchester, UK. Its not recorded live but very typical as to what you could expect on an evening of breakbeat goodness upstairs in the breaks room.
Anthems were created and friendships were forged here...

Tangled Breaks  2004

Here is the first ever tape i recorded for Tangled Breaks back in 1998. A heavy mix of big beat, breakbeats and old skool flavas which was the foundation of what was to become the longest running breaks night in the world. No tracklist available as i can only remember a few of them unfortunately as there are some crackers on there :)
Apologies for the poor sound but it was ripped from a tape.

217 - Renaissance 'The Silk Mix' by Dave Seaman (1996)

These mixes have been unearthed from the dusty vaults of Tangled. They have not been seen or played for over 15 years. No tracklist available, just music and memories from the Phoenix club, home to the legendary Tangled from 1997 - 2006. Here is the first in a series of mixes from residents Terry Pointon and Phil Morse.

Terry Pointon - Tangled: downstairs at the Phoenix - 26/06/1999

Phil was co-founder and resident of Manchesters legendary clubnight Tangled that ran for 21 years. A combination of house, trance, techno and breakbeat over two floors at various venues around Manchester. Here is a Phil Morse house mix from 1999 when Tangled was at the Phoenix where Tangled was every week from 1997 - 2006.

Here is a mix from 2002 by Terry Pointon, resident at Manchesters legendary clubnight. This was recorded at the peak of Tangled, when the Phoenix club was packed out every Saturday night with 700 sweaty, smiley ravers. The Phoenix club is sadly now demolished but the Tangled spirit certainly lives on!

Tangled 12th Birthday - Downstairs Classics mix - 2005

This Tangled Birthday mix was given out at the 9th birthday in 2002. The first half represents the music from the main room, house and trance whilst the second half represents the Tangled Breaks room upstairs. The CD it was taken from was very old and dusty, just like the DJs!! haha, so the last two minute are distorted and crackily... just like the clubbers!!

Tangled 9th Birthday mix - Both floors! - 2002

Here is another Tangled mix CD from the archives. Compiled and mixed by Tangled co-founder and resident DJ, Phil Morse. This mix takes you on a dirtier, darker journey into sound than the usual euphoric house vibes that were played at the legendary Tangled night at Club Phoenix every Saturday in 2003.

Tangled - Dark N Dirty By Phil Morse - Nov 2003

On Easter Saturday 2017 Tangled DJs and promoters Terry Pointon and Steve Thorpe held a boat party for friends of Tangled. They played back to back for 3 hours whilst the narrow boat, hired from Dry Barge Ltd, cruised along the canals of Manchester. The party was amazing. Great music, fantastic people and amazing atmosphere! This is also one of the first times Terry and Steve have played together in the same room, as they are usually in seperate rooms playing completely different music. The combination of various house music styles worked really well and it will definitely be happening again sometime soon :)
