Showtek and Justin Prime’s remarkable twist on their 2013 club anthem ‘Cannonball’ is set to be accompanied by a stellar remix package ahead of it’s release on April 13th, with Kryder, Matrix & Futurebound, Lazy Rich, Loopers, Yellow Claw and Brooks all enlisted to provide their own distinct reworks.
From Matrix & Futurebound’s high-energy, drum & bass workout to Kryder’s glistening, electro rhythms and Loopers’ thumping basslines, each remix adds to the anthemic, jump-up groove of the original. Yellow Claw’s bass-heavy trap rework offers up something uniquely fresh too and Brooks’ hands-in-the-air, dubstep-leaning remix packs plenty of club potential, whilst Lazy Rich gives ‘Cannonball (Earthquake)’ a euphoric, electro-house rework of epic proportions.

Daso Franke was born in Poona (India) and at the age of five was using the dance floor of his father’s disco as a playground, growing up with the music of Miles Davis, Jimi Hendrix and radio pop. Now, living in Berlin, this multi-talented music producer, live act and party machine, is one of the most exciting artists to emerge in recent times on the never-ending rollercoaster ride that is the modern electronic music circus. If you’ve at all sniffed around the Beatport charts at some stage in the last 12 months, then it’s highly likely that you’ll have been hugely impressed by a Berlin-based duo that go under the name ‘Mat.Joe’. With a string of releases and remixes in the last year on Snatch! Mother Recordings, Defected, Strictly Rhythm and of course Toolroom Trax, it’s an outright pleasure to have them return for their debut single release on the governing Toolroom Records this spring.

‘Nighthawk’ is an all-consuming tech house affair packed with deep grooves, guitar and synth licks and a dimly lit vocal performance, creating a delicately atmospheric personality within the track. Mat.Joe wholly boast their signature warm-yet-rough sound pallet and once again show us why their tracks are in such high demand.
