For the third installment of our ‚Identity formation‘ podcast series, we are thrilled to announce Kraut Sounds (@kraut-sounds). Kraut Sounds lives in the South of Germany. Originally started in spring 2012 as a dub techno project, evolving since then into an experimental electronic outfit with deep ambient roots and a certain kraut electronic vein.

Kraut Sounds released numerous EPs, albums and live sessions for several dub techno, ambient and drone netlabels: Büro für Erdrotation, Terra Rossa, Spiel:feld Records, Diametral, Dimbideep Music, Drone Works International (all Germany), Whitelabrecs (UK), Stellar Transition (France), Adept Label (Spain) and Dub Techno Blog (UK).
Podcasts of Kraut Sounds can be heard at Deep Electronics, Echogarden, Hello Strange, Spiel:feld, Moshitaka and Technopoetry.

Kraut Sounds has a side project named Polaroid Notes for piano, contemporary classical and ambient sounds. Up to now Polaroid Notes has done several digital and limited edition CD releases on British labels Whitelabrecs, Tessellate Recordings and Audio Gourmet as well on German Büro für Erdrotation, Drone Works International, Weber & Alcantu and Gallery Mol.

dramatic and beautiful nature

i was in bali on production of a short film, doing field recordings in this particular part of the jungle, with this cave and this waterfall... down at the bottom most sunlight is shaded off and there is a moist, lush landscape of wild plants growing on the cliffs. subtle echoed sounds of water drops and distant birds.

at the end of the cave is a waterfall, overwhelming in sound and force and in big contrast to the quiet and dark cave.

the brutality of of the water smashing the rocks below. the sound, almost too loud to bear. the solitude of this phenomenon - there is not animals living here, almost no sunlight, no distinction in sounds, only black cliffs surrounding the water. it became more and more beautiful the longer i listened and watched. the depth of this sound hypnotized me
