This week on Topshelf we have with us Canadian born, Bristol Based DJ, Producer, K.Wadey.
Mixing her brand of eclectic percussions, hitting baselines, and textured melodies to create atmospheric blends in her sets, K.Wadey's sets bring a breathe of fresh air into a room. 
Recently graduating from Saffron for Sound Music Production course and Intermediate MixNights, she is currently crafting new tracks with her unique sound so expect to hear her tracks blaring out around the streets of Bristol soon.

Martin Badder releases his first single ‘Dopamine’ from his forthcoming, self released, debut album ‘Soul Escape’.

Taking influence from the likes of Overmono, Bicep, Burial, Fred Again, SBTRKT and Bonobo, ‘Dopamine’ with it’s distinctive vocal mantra, flows though a number recognisable styles    including techno, house and electronica, whilst keeping an integral and coherent style of its own throughout.

‘I wanted to write a track you can lose yourself in, whether on headphones or in a dark club late into the night. It was important to me, to include a vocal narrative as well as the vintage synth hooks to give the listener something to cling to while being taken on a journey.’ - Martin Badder

Martin Badder - Dopamine [Badder]

Martin Badder releases his second single ‘Satori’ from his forthcoming debut album ‘Soul Escape’. 

'Satori' explores human connection and spirituality, with a mantra lead groove made from pads, bass and drums all having a certain unity. The track journeys through a spoken work breakdown, resulting in a euphoric and uplifting drop.

PROGRESSIVE BREAKS | APRIL 2024 

Fresh off the back of his latest EP ‘Dead Beat Poet’, Martin Badder teams up with critically acclaimed singer- songwriter Katey Brooks and dance hit writer Katie Marne (Judge Jools, Lange) to deliver his next big single on BADDER Label.

‘Who Am I' explores the stark emotions of unrequited love, weaving its way into the euphoria of freedom in surrender through breakbeats, moody pads and driving bass lines to deliver a moving track that will have you tearing up and dancing in equal measure.

Badder is a classically trained, electronic music producer and DJ, who writes emotive and deep, dance-floor oriented beats. With recent support from Radio 6 Music’s Tom Ravenscfoft, Deb Grant and Craig Charles, plus previous radio support includes Radio 1’s key dance tastemakers, Martin's momentum is building and marks a perfect time to be releasing with such a talented vocalist as Katey Brooks.

Brooks is a UK-based singer, songwriter and producer whose vocals have featured on records with Brian May (Queen), Bill Wyman (Rolling Stones), Nick Mason (Pink Floyd) and Paloma Faith. Her music has been used in the West End, TV and film, earning her several Best Original Song awards at independent film festivals. She has had radio play from BBC Radio 1, 2, and 6music, as well as Canada’s CBC, Jazz FM, and Amazing Radio.

Martin has had his own music remixed by the likes of John Digweed, Bob Sinclar and Hayden James, and has himself re-mixed house music royalty, Basement Jaxx. Martin has collaborated with some of the most renowned vocalists in house, including Clementine Douglas, Roland Clark and Robert Owens to name just a few.

Over the last few years Martin has performed at Printworks and numerous warehouse raves, appearing on lineups with the likes of Gorgon City, Sahsa and Dusky. This summer will see Badder performing at numerous UK festivals in including a headline, main stage live show at 'On The Road Festival' as well as select club bookings throughout the year.

Martin Badder may have just whipped up his best release to date. He gets set to make his release debut on Gorgon City’s REALM label with EP ‘Heartbroken’.

Already gracing some of the finest labels house music has to offer including Strictly Rhythm, DFTD, Cr2, Simma Black, Armada and more. Martin Badder is spreading perfectly crafted productions far and wide. Fast establishing himself as one of the most exciting new names on the scene. Martin Badder has curated the ultimate summer package.

More specifically, dance weapon ‘Lights Off’ via DJ SKT’s Stashed racked up radio appeal. It had BBC Radio 1 support from MistaJam’s Dance Anthems as a Today’s Dance Anthem. Elsewhere, Danny Howard aired his DFTD release ‘See It Through My Eyes’, marking huge recognition for the up and coming talent.

Featuring glistening vocals that soar over warping synth patterns, ‘Heartbroken’ is the ideal crossover house anthem.
