Kindisch warmly welcomes Los Angeles’ DAVI and his deeply melodic EP ‘Distant Memory’. DAVI’s musical journey began with heavy influences from classics like Pink Floyd and the likes, and it shows in the music. With a knack for taking listeners for a ride, the title track leads us down many paths along the journey. The thick pads sway as a warm guitar flutters its wings and a certain sense of bliss is achieved, if only briefly, before we are carried back down. ‘Kayser Soze’ spins a similar web, moody yet warm to the touch with a talent for escapism. ‘Kayser Soze’ brings a slightly harder vibe as it pulls you through its atmosphere of gentle surprises. Last time we heard from the Melbourne-based Matt Doyle was the early September release 'Lonely Robot', a 121bpm production that made for an impressive debut offering from an artist that has already secured releases with Proton, Particles, Balkan Connection, and Mistique. 

'Energon' launches with a supple shaker/kick combo that carefully blossoms in to an emotive production lead by sky-bound synths and an inviting atmosphere. This massive production clocks in just under an astounding 10 minutes long and sees Matter use every inch of its sonic fabric to employ a wide range of effects and emotions. If minimalistic bodies of work are your thing, the underlying grooves and powerful melodies of 'Energon' should be more than enough to lull even the pickiest of critics in to a blissful state of pure joy.
