An endless stream of shimmering sounds and harmonies, evenly filling each beat and all the space around.
Endless is built on a spiraling upward riff. Having reached the very top, the melody breaks down again and again to the next chord, starting a new ascent.
 
The measured tempo and smooth pulsation of the cyclical pattern of the piece immerse you in a real trance. I have always been attracted to this effect in electronic music and love to use it in my work. When playing such drawings on stage, sometimes I literally “switch off”, abstract from the audience and the present moment, fly away in my own thoughts, surrendering to the flow.
 
The sketch turned out to be calm, melancholic, endless. Hence its name - Endless.

Necromance is an electronic instrumental concept extended play by Kirsten Chevrolet, telling the story of two troubled teenagers, Manuel Lopez and Antonio Alvarez. In their hometown of Valencia, the two commit a series of crimes in a single night, driven by a need to "feel something."

After their stabbings, they get into an argument. The conflict comes to a crescendo when Manuel is stabbed by Antonio. Alvarez then defiles his corpse as the album comes to a close with the title track.

“Sallaw” is a Kurdish word that expresses the passing of time, and on this new album the three sound artists have found a way of expressing that notion in music. Four tracks of slowly unfolding ambience make up this collection, each piece named after different months, again in Kurdish. The four sections represent the different seasons and their movement through time.

Four years ago, the California based musician r beny came on the radar with numerous videos on youtube and instagram in which he explored the world of tape and sound synthesis. You could easily see his music growing and pretty soon he came to the fore as a master in modular synthesis. 

This culminated in several solo releases and live shows (e.g. with Bing & Ruth, Suzanne Ciani). Herein, r beny, clearly showed his capacities to combine detailed and fragile melodies with subtle textures in order to create sonic narratives with a highly emotional character.
 
“Echo's Verse” forms no exception on that regard and continues along the same melancholic lines of his previous work. However, whereas the initial albums were much more centred around feelings of loneliness, isolation and solitude, the new album clearly moves away from a sole focus on sad and distressing emotions. “Echo's Verse” touches the other side of the spectrum as it is about emotional connections, bonds and not feeling alone in the universe.

“Echo's Verse” will be out on May 15th on heavyweight clear vinyl* and comes with original handprinted artwork by Femke Strijbol. In addition to the regular version, there will also be a special edition (30 copies) including a unique 1-minute tape loop alongside the record.
