Alma

My mother taught me to pray as a child. It was important for her to instill that in me. I never was and I don't think I'll ever be a religious person but I can respect and understand the unique feeling others may have towards their faith. The power of prayer is like a chant and even a form of meditation and some people use it as such without being overtly religious. 
My mother prayed fervently till her last days.

One of the first songs I wrote and recorded for this project. Black is the color of the illness that ultimately took my mother's life. Rose is what my mother was like. November was the month where almost every time in her last 8 years of existence something seriously went wrong with her health.

My mother was the core that held my family together. After she was gone, my family momentarily fell apart. My father is a complicated man. I want to believe he always had the best intentions. But at times, it just went the wrong way. Forgiveness is a strong word. Very strong.
