Following on from his second long player, Romanian artist Mihai Popoviciu’s distinguished 2016 offering ‘Home’ is set to undergo a weighty four-part remix project, with remixes from Steve Bug, Kevin Yost, Sascha Dive, Tuccillo and more.

Mihai Popoviciu: 'The album’s called 'Home' because it is inspired by my experiences from my home city Sibiu in Romania. Home is also the place where the album was produced, in my stripped down studio. It is where I always return to rest and chill after touring the world and the place where I feel most safe and comfortable. The artwork shows an image of the airport lane in Sibiu with surrounding hills and mountains in the back. It is a metaphoric 'gate' to both leave and return home.'

With ‘Home’ gaining the attention and picking up support from the likes of Ryan Crosson, Luciano and Cesar Merveille, the Bondage-Music team now welcome to an array of talent to the label for 2017 as the LP is deconstructed and reworked across four brand new packages, with Part One dropping in early May.

Part One is opened by Poker Flat boss Steve Bug’s hazy interpretation of ‘Focus’, which floats effortlessly amongst precise drum work, subtle vocals and rich chords. 

Next Up, Pornbugs & Dilby serve up a classy rework of ‘Sunshine’ by utilizing the originals dubby atmospherics and laying the focus on a rolling, deep lying groove, before Peter Makto & Gregory S unveil their minimal yet emotive remix of ‘Data On Data’.

Serving as a digital bonus, UK talent James Dexter reworks Popoviciu’s stripped back ‘ACK’ through a combination of intricate organic percussion patterns, deep sub tones and elusive, wavering background nuances, punctuating an excellent package to kick start the series.

Set to feature on Parts Two, Three and Four are: Tuccillo, El Mundo, Sascha Dive, Kevin Yost, André Hommen, Kike Mayor, Toygun, Muui, Pablo Bolivar, Martin Aquino, Schlepp Geist & Krink and Sven Tasnadi.

Premiere: Dantiez - The Harp (Wolf Story Remix)

The music-savvy Bernese Dave Hard delivers a musically focused piece of work on Sirion Records with his EP Palilula. The lightness of a past summer can be felt here as well as the certain melancholy of an approaching autumn. The three tracks were also reinterpreted and remixed by Dole & Kom, Markus Homm, Mobi, Balance and the Sirionaut Bird.The trance-infused house track "Palilula" creates a bittersweet yet hands-up high atmosphere through pads, chords and bars.Markus Homm created an airy light remix one could listen to in an endless loop.Dole & Kom use skillful melody changes, suspense arches and an additional Acid-inspired synth line for their interpretation. Goose bumps on the dancefloor are guaranteed."Mallet Dreams" announcing fall with filigree mallets, chords and pads. Yet with a certain drive he still feeds on the energy of summer. You'll want to listen to this one wrapped in a warm blanket, watching the foggy sunrise at the after hour of an open air at the lake.The Balance Remix a bit of a quieter, dubbier version. The downtempo affine number shines with a warm bassline and slightly reduced mallets.Pads which on the one hand contain a choral dress and on the other hand a rhythmic note harmonize perfectly with a static kickdrum and warm subbass in "The Soul". A nice rounding off of the whole EP.Mobi reinterprets the track completely and puts on a gloomy almost dystopian atmosphere, which shines through a rougher bassline.Sirion's Bird reduces the original track to its trance-like aspect, adds more drive and rhythm, and voil it's complete.

Dave Hard - Mallet Dreams (Balance Remix)

This release comes from the experienced Swiss DJ and producer Marco Berto from Winterthur.
With many publications on Steve Lawler’s Viva Music, Stefano Noferini’s DPE, the Italo label Go Deeva or the latest on the renowned US house label King Street Sounds, Marco Berto always manages to bridge the gap between classic house and techhouse.
With the Defex EP, however, he is clearly moving towards a reduced tech house this time. The EP contains three tracks including remixes by Martin Landsky, Dachshund and Mastra. 

Defex – Original
The driving techhouse Track manages to keep the groove up from start to finish with reduced chords, bars and a rolling deep bassline.

Defex – Martin Landsky Remix
Martin Landsky gives the original a dubious note. He skillfully keeps the drive of his previous releases high. The accent is clearly on the chords, which offer trained hearing a wide variety with reverb and delay effects.

Morning Rain – Original
The number with a crisp kick, acid bassline, classic string elements, bars and a vocal clearly indicate Marco Berto's roots in classic house music.

Morning Rain - Dachshund Remix
Dachshund focuses on the synth elements and manages to disenchant the Funky note of the Original 303 Bassline, which gives the track a nice rolling note.

Morning Rain - Mastra Remix
The producer and DJ from Berne once again shows that his experience enables him to put his stamp on an original with great attention to detail. A flat dubhouse number with a good portion of groove.

Fusion – Original
Classic techhouse meets tribal elements and a repetitive vocal. Simply put, this creates a never-ending journey into dark rooms with lots of smoke and flashes of lightning.

For its fourth release, the Swedish label Trampoliner is welcoming Tony y Not (SXDNS183). The Berlin/NYC-based artist, whose rousing blends of sounds are as razor-sharp as she is, is a DJ, producer, and cosmic event planner. From venues and parties like Watergate and Cityfox to experiences like Burning Man, Tony y Not uses music as a tool to communicate what words simply cannot, empowering crowds to smile, look forward, and not take themselves too seriously. For her new release, she brought together a strong line-up of remixers: Everyone's favourite Italian duo Armonica, heavyweight Swiss duo Animal Trainer, and Australian sensation Made In Paris.

Despite the insightful remixes, we opted to premiere the beautiful original. In our humble opinion, “Last Night” is a flawless masterpiece. It managed to enchant us from its very beginning. When the mighty bassline makes its entrance, you realize it is time to deliver yourself to the melody and give up being ashamed for dancing alone in your living room. The vibrant acid and the trippy synth layers complete the combo of elements wisely concocted by Tony.

Mastra, Sirion Records long-time friend and at the same time Bernese veteran when it comes to electronic music in all its facets, is launching an extensive oeuvre consisting of three independent EPs. It forms a fusion between visual art in the form of cover artwork and musical creation. Mastra and the visual artist Johannes Luna had this fusion planned quite some time, but it took a clandestine meeting in a pub to seal the deal. They philosophized extensively about the connection between visual art and music. It is the abstraction in Mastra's music that inspired Johannes and ultimately flowed into his art to make this complete work possible. Musically, this project moves in deep and techhouse realms with influences from the genres of Dub, Funk and Soul, paired with the usual light-footedness from Mastra's production pool.
