Regardless of what people tell you everybody needs a little groove in their life from time to time so for this weeks podcast we secured the services of our go to guy when we’re looking for our house equivalent of our five a day: Martin Landsky. Needing little introduction we’ve long been fans of Martin both as a producer and a DJ. 

Hailing from Hamburg, Martin has been moving crowds for almost three decades, touring the globe and rocking some of the world’s best parties – with everywhere from Berlin to Brooklyn housing his irrepressible talents. Not content with smashing it as both in the DJ booth and the studio he’s also turned his hand distribution and running a label, working for Container Distribution and later for Word And Sound – one of the world’s largest distributers – whilst helming his own label, Effortil Records. Having just reprised his with association with Poker Flat for the release of his new EP 'Da Geh Bo’ (we’ve got the three track effort both in our heads and on our playlists) we thought the time was right for him take the reins on our podcast series. このたびの東日本大震災におきまして、被害にあわれた皆様に心よりお見舞い申し上げるとともに、犠牲になられた方々とご遺族の皆様に対し、深くお悔やみを申し上げます。
clubberiaでは「Play to Pray - Tribute to Japan project 」と題しまして、世界をまたにかけ活躍するトップアーティストの協力のもと、被災者支援のための義援金を募る活動を行っています。

On March 11th an earthquake and tsunami hit Japan affecting millions of people; and although it has been three months since the disaster, for the victims this crisis is still not over. People are still without homes and jobs, living in shelters that are low on food and supplies. Many have lost their families and loved ones. Entire villages have been distroyed and are still without a connection to the rest of the country.

数カ月前に日本を襲った甚大な地震と津波。
すでに世界のメディアでは、これについて報道されることも少なくなってきましたが、非常に大きな惨事は未だに続いているのです。
多くの人々が家、家族、命を失い、すべてを破壊されました。従来の日常をすべて元に戻し、インフラを再建するためには、何年もの時間がかかります。

そして何よりも最大のショックな出来事は、フクシマで起こっている最悪のケースのシナリオかもしれません。今日に至っても、何ひとつ成り行きが予測すらできず、全世界に影響を及ぼすのですから。

そのような状況にある人生や宿命にあり、楽観思考を緩められないことは、何とも信じがたいことに違いありません。このことにおいては、言葉を見つけることもむずかしくで、私はただ閉口するばかりです。

日本の人々がどのようにして、彼らが背負った運命を受け入れ、未来を眺めているのか、「普通の」生活を取り戻すことに挑戦しているのか、お互いを助け合るために力を合わせているのか、そしてどのように祖国の「復興」をするのかー肉体的にも、精神的にも。私は日本人の人々の強さにはとても感銘を受けています（少なくとも私にはそのように見えます）。

私の心と愛は、日本のみなさんとともにあります。地球のこちら側からの共感が、何らかのサポートをもたらし、この大きなチャレンジに対峙するための充分なパワーを維持できますように。

[The message from Martin Landsky]

Months ago some serious earthquakes and Tsunami hit Japan.
Worldwide press got a bit quieter about all this, but it´s still a big big tragedy.
Many people lost their homes, their families, their lifes, whole areas are destroyed. It will take ages to get everything back to normal and to rebuild all the infrastructure.
The biggest shock on top of all this is maybe the worst case scenario happening in Fukushima, the final consequences are even not predictable today, and will have an effect on the whole world.

It must be hard to believe in life and fate in such a situation and not to loose ones optimism; it´s really hard to find words for that, it simply makes me speechless.

I am impressed by the strength of the japanese people (this is how it looks like to me at least), how they seem to accept their fate and look into the future, taking the challenge of trying to come back to a "normal" life and pooling forces to help each others and "rebuilding" their country; physically and mentally!

My thoughts and love are with you Japan, may the empathy from this side of the world provides some support for you to keep on having enough power to meet this big challenge.
