ALLIA ( Timisoara, RO ), by her real name Chilom Carla Amalia started her journey in music a long time ago…growing with good electronic music she developed a huge love for it.

In 2022 she started her journey as a DJ by taking the mixing courses at @event.sound.dj school and only after 2 months she debuted at Cincis Festival and in the summer of 2022 she also played at Flight Festival.

After that she played her beats at lots of private parties, clubs and of course at iconic underground parties in Timisoara.

Passion and endless love for music brought her today as a mentor in EVENT SOUND DJ mixing school.

The year 2023 started with the first District23 official party in January.

ALLIA also  played her sets at emblematic parties on “ Flight Festival Bus “ and “ Flight Boat Party “ winning her place behind the decks in the District Festival that took place in June.

After that, she started her collaboration with HousedSound, playing her sets at D’arc and Nemesis Art Club.

Fresh, vibrant and ecstatic ALLIA played her music in Craiova at Lake Beats House Party at MOS and she unleashed her wings at WINGS in Arad at TechHouse Sounds.

On Jeffrey Morgan's initiative - the man from Seattle had recently settled in Cologne - a saxophone quartet was formed in 1993 that did not use the usual licks and patterns, but felt committed to the production of sounds under the premise of free association of free wind musicians. They acted musically, they talked later - also a reference to the subtle irony of the eponymous title: after all, William Bonney was none other than Billy The Kid, who became famous under his working name.

Certainly, a lot was demanded of the audience's ear canals, but no less of their own musical production. Freely improvised saxophone quartets don't just know beautiful melodies over repetitive beats: how many such combinations have always bored us?  The challenge was not only to develop the saxophone's own sounds, but also to combine the various playing practices and attitudes of the players into an expressive whole.
Keune, Zoepf, Morgan and Speicher were not afraid to take risks and often came alarmingly close to the edge of falling without ever losing the desire to cross it.  Safe paths were unknown to the quartet, even if everyone knew how to contribute their own personal and tried and tested ingredients.
No wonder the quartet remained an underground insider tip, shunned by people with an affinity for jazz ("where's the form here?" ...) and regarded with a nasal sniff by the acrobats of the ping-pong style as not always capable of satisfying.

It came as it had to: 2007 was the end of this kind of instrumental conspiracy.

What a pity!

Liminal MX is a genre bending newcomer whose music is designed to take listeners to a space of introspection and spiritual liberation. His alias is drawn from a word that "represents the idea of being nowhere, neither physically nor mentally, but rather in an authentic and spiritual place within oneself". The creative process behind Liminal takes place in the artist's studio, where the mind is freed and immersed in the search for unique rhythms and movement.

His studio work blends influences from deep house with organic percussion from afro, lush harmonies and melancholic melodies and smart R&B vocals to create an atmosphere that invites reflection and exploration of the deepest emotions. He has already released independently, as well as on Tortuga and now Marginalia whilst playing plenty of Europe's finest clubs.

First up, Liminal MX collaborates with Baqsy on 'Hold Forever' feat. Maria Caan which has frazzled bass and eerie pads all finished with a haunting vocal that draws you in deep. Next up, 'Save Me' is a tasteful minimal sound with spine tingling chords and deft vocal touches whilst 'With Me' layers up rubbery, rolling drums with supple synths and heart aching female croons. Meanwhile, 'Remember' keeps the drums flowing with more vocals that convey a real sense of pain and then brings beeping synth sequences to soft drum loops for more celestial escape. 'Feel Me' uses punchy, futuristic pads before leading into a hypnotic, distorted vocal cut whilst soft piano chords and ethereal elements echo throughout. 'Fast Line' adds texture to the deepness with some dirty guitar riffs acting as a nice edgy counter to the angelic vocals whilst 'Complicated' shuts down like a soothing deep house hymn for late night contemplation.

This accomplished album makes for a fully immersive journey through the forward thinking and emotional soundscapes of Liminal MX.

I am passionate about music since I was a kid. In 1984 I started as a non-stop D.J. on free radio Ace Kontich (Antwerp, Belgium) and Mertropolis Wilrijk (Antwerp Belgium). In 1985 I started spinning in clubs and discos. The most important were La Scala Belgium, Busby's, Clockwork Orange and Plastic Fantastic Tenerife. In 1992 I produced 2 techno records Rabbits and Elephants (Defcon records) and Epileptica (Grand Mal records). Those records also came out on various collection CDs; Dance or die, Mystery Land, Real retro house classix volume 3 and trance unlimited volume 1.
