Mein heutiger Gast ist Kurt Krömer. Kurt Krömer ist Komiker – und für mich der Berliner Komiker.

Angefangen hat er auf der Bühne der Berliner Scheinbar vor drei Gästen. Jahrelang musste er sich am Existenzminimum lebend nach oben spielen. 2003 kam Kurt Krömer zum Fernsehen, hatte dort verschiedene Shows und es ging immer bergauf. Ende 2014 beendete er allerdings seine Fernsehkarriere und konzentrierte sich lange auf sein Bühnenprogramm.

Wir haben uns 2018 im Hotel Matze getroffen. Damals hat er gerade überlegt, wieder etwas im Fernsehen zu machen und eine Art Comeback zu versuchen – und ich würde sagen, dieses Comeback hat so was von funktioniert. In “Chez Krömer” trifft Kurt auf Freund*innen und Arschlöcher. In seiner Verhörzelle sitzen Bushido, Erika Steinbach, Teddy Teclebrhan. Den Grimme-Preis gab es schon nach der ersten Episode. 

Als ich Kurt 2018 getroffen habe, wusste ich ihn nicht so richtig einzuordnen. Was war die Kunstfigur Kurt Krömer, was der echte Mensch Alexander Bojcan? Es war super nett, aber uneindeutig. Bei dieser Begegnung war das ganz anders. Mir gegenüber saß keine Kunstfigur, sondern der echte, der eindeutige und auch einmalige Alexander Kurt Krömer Bojcan. Wir sprechen über seine Depression und sein Outing als Depressiver. Im letzten Jahr gab es eine aufsehenerregende “Chez Krömer”-Folge zusammen mit Torsten Sträter. Was danach in seinem Postfach los war, konnte Kurt nicht fassen. Ein Grund, seine Erfahrungen ausführlich in seinem neuen Buch “Du darfst nicht alles glauben, was du denkst” und auch hier im Podcast zu teilen.
 
Ich wollte wissen: Welche Erfahrung hat er in der Klinik gemacht, warum hatte er solche Angst vor der Gruppentherapie, wie haben die Patient*innen reagiert, dass dort plötzlich dieser Kurt Krömer saß? Und wie hat es sein Leben seitdem verändert? Wir sprechen über seinen Alkoholentzug, über Gefühle, über ihn als Vater, über Familie, Freund*innen, über “Chez Krömer”, die Arschlochliste, sein Comeback und ganz, ganz viel mehr.

Next up on Crosstown Rebels is a classy deep tech cut from one of Sweden’s finest exports - Ida Engberg. Making her debut on Crosstown Rebels with ‘Devil Dance’, Ida proves her undeniable power to move the dancefloor as she combines her tough yet groovy style with a sexy dose of acid. B-side ‘Silhouette Of A Ghost’ is a housier affair, with a lighter bounce yet injected with some filthy distorted bass.  Featuring reworks by the legendary Mr G and Ida’s close cohort Adam Beyer, the ‘Devil Dance’ package is essential for any DJ box and best served up on a system that’s worthy.

Ida Engberg is a global techno megastar. DJing from an incredibly young age and working her way up from local bars in hometown Stockholm to residencies in Marbella followed by season in Ibiza 2005, Ida then turned attention to production and by 2007 had releases out on Get Physical and Pickadoll. With European tour dates pouring in, Ida came to play her first Drumcode gig in 2008 and later joined the ranks of the juggernaut collective in 2011, often playing alongside Drumcode founder Adam Beyer and also making her mark with releases on the label. The dancefloor domination has continued with sets at the most prestigious clubs and festivals in the world. 2014 will see Ida kick off a residency for Verboten in NYC plus appearances at Damian Lazarus’s next Rebel Rave and 9th annual Get Lost in Miami. Ida is to follow this up with a series of EPs for Crosstown Rebels so watch this space.

Delivering a superb dub mix of ‘Devil Dance’, prolific UK techno veteran Mr G bestows his unmistakable raw and bass heavy thump and groove with his ‘NY Dub’. Mr G is a legend by anyones standards - a stronghold in the industry as much as in his pioneering days with The Advent. Nowadays Mr G is found lighting up the catalogues of Rekids, Running Back, Bass Culture and Contemporary Scarecrow as well as releasing on his own imprint Phoenix G.

Fellow Swedish techno royalty Adam Beyer delivers a suitably loopy remix of ‘Devil Dance’ - clunking and chunking up the percussion and with a groovy little suction motif, Adam once again proves he’s a true master of rhythm. Launching the now seminal label Drumcode in 1996, Beyer is the kingpin of the Stockholm scene and as well as a plethora of releases on labels Planet Rhythm, Truesoul and of course countless on own labels Drumcode and Code Red.

Martin Woerner - any questions? Barely anyone!
He was one of the few absolutely shooting stars of the rhein-main-area in 2008! His productions for Paso Music or Herz Ist Trumpf Records were pretty successful and have been supported by all big names in the scene.

Martin Woerner was born in Hanau (near Frankfurt am Main/Germany) in 1980. In 2002, he already launched the project "Stereofuse" together with his former partner, Thorsten Diegel and as a part of this project, he successfully released his first record on Salo Rec./Berlin (Casino EP) in 2002. Also within this project, his second release followed on Pascal Feos label Phono Elements (Headfunk) in 2005.

Besides, Martin always had his own ideas and visions of electronic music, and he hence cut his own path. Immediately, his first own release on Herz ist Trumpf Rec. (Shingles/HIT03/2008) was a complete success and not less successful releases followed e.g. on Paso-Music (Full-Tilt/PASO15/2009, “Unarrested”/Paso20/2010) or Plastic Rules (Rascal EP/2010). He established his own label Inclusion Records which fully rounded his
successful year of 2008.

The name Martin Woerner stands for euphoric and powerful dancefloor- music. His sound spectrum ranges from deep- minimal House to impulsive Techno of which can be convinced at one of his numerous and rousing Live-acts.
