 1973; Remix competition that I ran out of time on so rough mix ideas here. Shame, but great fun to work on, bit of audio archeology: I trawled through the multi tracks taking as many little loops and hidden sampled noises as I could to manipulate, sadly editing reflects time constraints! Guess I was trying to do something a bit sound tracky, visual, trying to use lots of elements of the original composition....would have been more easy to just use the main riff that everyone knows, but tried to be a bit more adventurous :-) Anyway, has been a really interesting and fascinating project, Thanks for listening.
Diary Notes: Sept 13: couldn't believe I had these stems (along with everyone else). Felt a real privilege. Have never seen the Film, but the way this remix unfolded was v cinematic, and also a bit basic, found myself drawn to doing early arp, analogue midi stuff. Ended up with some good ideas but lost it for me half way through, I lost some direction, and end result is a bit of a mess, but sometimes thats how it ends :-)
postscript Pic: Bluey the Van took a wrong turning at a festival and ended up outside some stately home....she was hoping it was her new garage....took a selfie and made swift escape. Buck house next
