The Oculist - This track actually started as me trying to re-create Patchouli Dump Truck by Opiuo, which I feel like I did quite accurately, then I decided to take the sounds I'd replicated, and process them even more and take it into a more Mr. Bill'esque territory by staggering the rhythms right out & adding a ton of heavily edited components to it. I was happy with the result, so here it resides on the album!

Savant - How I Roll (WeAreCastor's Love for Savant Version)

This is a song that has been one of my favorites for the last 25 years or so. It's a cover of a cover that Jerry Garcia (guitar, of course), Merle Saunders (keys), John Kahn (bass), and Bill Vitt (drums) recorded live at the Keystone in Berkley, CA, in 1973. It's actually a cover they did (I just found out a few years ago) of a song called Finders Keepers by the Chairmen of the Board, which is definitely worth checking out, too. This version is a more laid back, but it keeps the funk alive. 
  The guys who made this quarter century dream of mine come true are JJ Terrell, who plays the funky clavichord and dynamic organ throughout, Ken (K2 and the Three, and K2 and the Four)who's playing the tight, funky drums and great percussion, and Tez (Llanpsych), who's playing the ripping guitar lead at the end. Tez also mixed and produced this, expertly, as always. I'm on guitar, bass, and the synth lead at the beginning. Can't verbalize how much fun this was for me, and I hope all of us. We hope you enjoy it, too.

SNAILS - Funk With Me (ft. Big Gigantic)

Made from the Red Bull interview with Mr Herb (Pump) Powers Jr, who was noted for starting the loudness war back in the days of vinyl whereby he designed a lath and and amplifier to cut the grooves deeper and wider , to allow higher levels. At least, that was the idea at the time.

Herb was the mastering engineer, known for his various hits including Planet Rock and many other early 1980s Electro and Street Dance all the way into the House scene until present.

The polarity in this track is the art of using sounds to produce dirt and dissonance and make it sound nice and bring through the harmonics . Acid Tapes are the original masters to which he refers which are unlike anything we hear in the public domain , once the music is placed onto a medium and reproduced by audio equipment. 

Of course, true pro producers know the experience to which he is also referring . The public want "Warmth"  ?
