The main element on “Carthago” is the Moog. It was a new approach, influenced by the new kind of sound that was slowly taking over. Minimal was on its way to dominate the dance scene in the coming years, but I didn’t consider myself minimal. The new sound, focus on particular machines for main elements of the tracks. That approach felt somehow German and old school, and the result had to be released on an old school German label.  Thank you Sven and the team!

Venice. A city of canals, masks, and hidden passions. Here, amidst foggy streets and whispers of history, Francesco Tamburrano (@ft-dubtechno) seeks thrill, risk, and fate. His new album, The Gambler, is more than eight tracks in the dub techno genre—it is a musical reinterpretation of Fyodor Dostoevsky’s novel The Gambler. Every sound, every vibration feels like a roll of the dice, leading the listener into deep, almost mystical labyrinths of the human psyche.

It begins with “Alexei Ivanovich”—an introspection of a hero teetering between passion and madness. “Polina Alexandrovna” shrouds you in melancholy and mystery, as if the music tells its own secret intrigues. “General” resonates with authority and order, while “Madame de Cominges” gently draws you into an elegant game of seduction and manipulation. “Marquis de Grieux” is a rhythmic elegy of desire, “Mr Astley” hints at hidden motives and perilous games, “Mlle Blanche” transports you into a light, almost ethereal illusion, and “Potapych” concludes the album, leaving a lingering sense of contemplative longing and the inevitability of fate.

Each composition by Francesco Tamburrano is crafted with the precision of an alchemist: deep motifs intertwine with spatial effects, creating the sensation that the sound breathes alongside you. This album is an experiment at the boundaries of time, space, and emotion.

What makes it truly special is that The Gambler is released on the Russian label [PIRANHA SIBERIA DUB]. For us, this is an event akin to winning the most daring gamble: a cultural and musical exchange between Italy and Russia, between past and future. Seit 2011 lebt Er in Leipzig - eine boomende lebendige Stadt mit unheimlich viel Charme und Vielfältigkeit, mit Orten von denen er sich inspirieren lies und lässt. Das Maximum an Inspiration holt er an cremigen Locations, wie dem Cospudener See heraus. Hier lässt er die Melodien und Impressionen der Natur auf sich wirken. Im Studio der BeatBrothers werden diese Einflüsse dann in neue Audiokunstwerke eingearbeitet.

Ein Club, eine Tanzfläche, das Publikum – für David ist diese Kombination jedes Mal ein neues Kunstwerk, was sich wie ein Puzzel zusammensetzt – ein Kunstwerk, das im Gedächtnis bleibt. Diese Erinnerung möchte David bei seinen Auftritten und den Tanzwütigen hinterlassen denn: " Das Leben ist ein ewiger Kreis, in dem Musik undenkbar wäre."
