Argentinian based DJ/Producer OSWLD joins Soma in 2014 and debuts Tragicaller under his new alias 04LM. With some storming releases under his belt on the fantastic Non Series, 04LM brings his more melodic & haunting sound to the Soma ranks. One of the UK’s biggest Techno exports and Blueprint Records label head, James Ruskin, joins 04LM for a bone crunching remix.

Title track Tragicaller growls in with dark, chugging percussion and one mean bass line. Slowly and surely the tracks evolves, eerie pads float atop brash hi hats and shakers and well defined sequences keep the track flowing, heavy atmospheres in the background rise higher keeping the temperature of this on high!

James Ruskin weighs in with his version of M Place. Hard hitting from the get go. A mighty kick drums bangs across the spectrum as 04LM’s main melody pulses in the background. Chopped up percussion slices through giving this track a fantastic groove. James takes his remix into heavier territories as an almighty bass binge rockets through the heart of his version.

The original version of 04LM’s M Place closes the EP. Hollowed out percussion seals a perfectly haunting melody that sweeps in balanced by slightly distorted atmospheres.

04LM creates a distinct sound with his originals while Techno pioneer Ruskin jacks up proceedings nicely.

From the depths of outer space emerges Alpha Station, the first long play by Alberto Santana; classic sounds with a modern touch where we can hear an artistic and futuristic vision that aims to convert techno into art. 

In this album you can find a balance between tranquility and energy, but with some assured darkness.  In fact you can find some experimental tracks purposed to help DJs to get some futuristic textures in their live acts, but also other, rougher, thicker and more percussive tracks, created to rumble the most pure dance floors of the international techno scene.

Clearly Alpha Station is one of Alberto’s finest and serious piece of work, confirming Alberto as one of the true ambassadors of techno.

Desde las profundidades del espacio exterior emerge Alpha Station, el primer albúm de larga duración de Alberto Santana; sonidos clásicos con un toque moderno en el que podemos escuchar una visión artística y futurista que tiene como objetivo convertir el techno en arte.

En este disco se puede encontrar un equilibrio entre la tranquilidad y la energía, pero con algo de oscuridad. De hecho,  se pueden encontrar algunas pistas experimentales con un carácter futurista, aunque por otra parte en este albúm también encontramos tracks más ásperos, con pistas de percusión más gruesas y creadas para arrasar las pistas de baile más puras de la escena techno internacional.

Es evidente que Alpha Station será uno de los trabajos más serios de la obra de Alberto, confirmando de esta manera a Alberto como uno de los verdaderos embajadores del techno actual.

The Soma Coma Series returns with its 7th instalment, bringing original and reworked tracks from Soma's current roster alongside some of the wider electronic music community. Aimed at the more ambient, cerebral side of Techno, Soma Coma 7 features Slam, Rebekah, Edit Select, Jonas Kopp, Clouds and more adding to the high standard set by this well loved compilation series.
Consisting of a massive 13 tracks, the immersive qualities of the album are apparent from the start with Deepbass' Ambient Version of Circa opening the album, quickly followed by the always on point Deepchord with Roca 9 - tarn from his most recent Soma LP. Current Soma collaborators SLV & Edit Select offer two very contrasting pieces with Glasgow's own Petrichor making an appearance with the glistening Ko-Rah. An uncharacteristic piece from Rebekah highlights her dynamic production skills while recent offerings from 04LM & Charles fencer once again find their place within the album. Labels heads Slam makes various appearances with exclusive remixes of their 'Reverse Proceed' project finally seeing the light of day. Jonas Kopp, Clouds, & Jeroen Search breathe new life into the already exquisite material from the Glasgow Duo.

Burgeoning Detroit based producer Uun debuts on Soma with his Proletarii EP. Having only just broke into the international scene, Uun has impressed with releases on Mord, his own Ego Death imprint and Glasgow’s own Animal Farm. His dark and pervasive sound continues with this 3 track release on Soma. 

The Descending Passage opens the EP with syncopated synths and an obliterating kick drum workout that only increases in intensity as more percussive elements join the fray. Cruelty Is Nothing New takes things down a darker more cerebral path with electrified, pulsating synths twisting and melding around tripped out drums. Give Them Rope closes the release with a more hypnotic feeling as polyrhythmic structures drive the synth hooks while jacked up and groove laded drums provide the power.
