After two days of deliberation, the Turbo vibe trust and TWR72 have come to a unanimous decision regarding the winner and runner up of our Merijn Remix Competition. We were all very impressed by the different directions the mixes were taken, having heard everything from laid back lifestyle versions, peak time highlight reel techno, to straight up jazz. Thank you everyone for participating - we'll be doing another one of these very soon!!

A true product of Toronto's thrillingly cosmopolitan Grooving Pot, this Chinese-Italian duo is quickly earning a rep for crafting highly effective acid tracks with just a hint of banger. They initially earned notice with their first EP, 'Vaporizer,' on This Is Music, before making fans out of some big names with THESE tracks, with Brodinski championing 'Body Acid' and forcing Turbo's A&R Vibetrust to perk up their unbelievably jaded ears. If you aren't sold on the Ontario-buzz, then maybe you'll pay attention to two awesome remixes by the bombest Bulgarian, Kink. The 'Deep' mix is a lush, throbbing body-rub, and the 'Acid' version is a highlight-reel of peak time mayhem, already caned and charted by Erol Alkan and Tiga. If nothing else, 'Body Acid' is a vital reminder that acid goes into your body. That's just the way it works.

05 Locked Groove & Gingy - Tie Dye

Break New Soil's impressive "Breaking New Soil" series reaches its fifth instalment and whilst we've been treated to multi-track EP's, the latest from label is a weighty eight track compilation.  "We created the series as a platform to bring together artists from our roster, friends of the label and also material that we've been sent for consideration" says label boss Gregor Tresher. Each and every track is selected because its worked well in my own DJ sets. It seems that with each instalment we just have more to bring you."For Vol. 5 we are treated to new tracks from label favourites Marco Effe, Romano Alfieri and Luca Bear or as Gregor calls them "our Italian family" and BNS debutant, Coyu. "His Suara label is for me, one of the most consistent right now" says Tresher. Macromism return with a follow up to their vol. 4 contribution, which was one of the highlights of the ep and drop another bomb, whilst we also welcome Mr Bizz who impressed greatly with their recent release on Octopus. Alex Dolby & Santos obviously need little introduction and with Gregor working on a remix project for them, the favour is returned with a new cut that presents a new side to their sound. Wrapping things up are Mario Da Ragnio who returns to the label with a nasty little groover and new Italian artist Alex Delia who drops an essential tool for the floor.

You might remember the Electrophants, who did some bloody great electro releases and remixes on Basserk & BMKLTSCH RCRDS. Saddly the Electrophants split up, happily Borren continued with new addition Vincent... after a short while they decided to change the name and make a fresh start as U KNOW & THE DRILL. In this new outfit they still create electro bangers, but they've shifted more towards a Bass & House style. The title track of this first EP is a good example, a mixture between House & Electro, while Hoes & Discoes is more traditional electro.

Gingy & Bordello open the floodgates with the Iron & Water EP, three club-devouring crowdpleasers that showcase the duo's maturing sound.

Following the success of the Body Acid EP, which received massive support from the likes of Soulwax, Erol Alkan, Marcel Dettmann, Nina Kraviz and Martyn, this EP finds Gingy & Bordello further refining their approach, taking their new-school floor-filling instincts into the techno arena and emerging with a deeper, more mature sound.

The title track starts jacking the room until it's reduced to its core elements of metal, sweat and ampersands. Meanwhile, "Panopticon" breaks out the strobe-light blinders for a disorienting dissertation on the nature of controlling a dance floor. Finally, "Ausbruch" combines the pitiless efficiency of German electronics with the volcanic fury that makes Toronto the most dangerous city on Earth.

This release firmly places G&B among the new pantheon of Turbo artists, standing proudly alongside the marble-hewn Gods that have made the label a musical mythology worth kneeling to.

Having pummelled our floors with Bart Skils 'Shantaram', the Break New Soil faithful are set to enjoying a meeting of musical super-powers as label chief Gregor Tresher joins forces once again with Monika Kruse under their GTMK alias. 

Having worked on projects together in the past, the German duo decided that now was the time to team up again. "Monika and myself have been friends for many years and have worked on quite a lot of music together" says Gregor. "We released two EPs in 2007 on Intacto and Terminal M and we also worked on Monika's 2008 album 'Changes Of Perception'. At the tail end of 2012 we decided that we should work on some new material and our new Break New Soil ep is the result." 

As GTMK our duo present the arena-busting 'Calling East' and the gritty heads-down stomp of, 'Trooper.' The lead track is set to be a festival favourite with its euphoric synth riff, epic builds and bass swells, whilst on the flip its straight into battle as 'Trooper' drives on armed with its evil napalm-tipped kick drum.

TURBO launches WAREHOUSE SERIES with London's @RANDOMER.

In a few short years, Randomer has developed a dedicated cult following, with exceptional releases on some of the UK's most respected underground labels - Hessle, Numbers, and Hemlock. Having recently branched out with his own white-label imprint, the North London producer now looks to conquer the rest of the world with this release on Tiga's emergent techno powerhouse, Turbo Recordings.

RUFFA and NO HOOK are aptly titled, built on clanging, banging, metallic, distorted drums that pack a heavy punch. RUFFA has a distinctly electro feel, centred on a catchy, syncopated synth riff, while NO HOOK relies on only the most basic and brutal elements, with just a single distorted tom rising above the hardcore drum beatdown.

Turbo A&Rs called in their heaviest up-and-coming producer in London's J. Tijn, poised to break through with a pair of recent releases on Hemlock's new sub-label Pennyroyal.

This is futuristic techno at its ruffest and tuffest, uniting kingdoms and birthing dynasties.
