Melómana Records' latest release, reference number 42, is distinguished by the collaboration of two renowned artists from the label, Sotockhol Syndrome and Tronik Youth.

This release includes two original tracks that blend genres like electro, EBM, dark disco, and new wave among others, characterized by the intensive use of strident synthesizers and a robust and forceful rhythmic base, elements that guarantee their effectiveness on the dance floors.

The original tracks are complemented by three innovative remixes: Gameboyz, Mexican producer TH3OS, and French artist Cate Hortl add new dimensions to the EP's sound. "Viodance," the track that opens the release, stands out with its catchy riff and funk elements, combined with hypnotic vocals and complex arpeggios that transport the listener to another era. "Fascinated" raises the rhythm with a dark disco style bass and an arpeggiated synthesizer line that transports us to futuristic new dimensions of the dance floors.

Gameboyz's remix of "Viodance" incorporates an electro sound with marked percussions and acid sequences that capture the listener's attention from the very first moment. Meanwhile, TH3OS adds a dark, minimal, and techno dimension to the same
track, using the original arpeggio line to create a sensory journey filled with hypnotic rhythms. Finally, Cate Hortl delivers a standout remix combining powerful bass lines in the style of Gesaffelstein with the original track's synthesizers, maintaining its essence while exploring new sonic territories.

This release not only reaffirms Melómana Records' commitment to a distinctive and constantly evolving sound but also anticipates a 2024 full of innovations and surprises within the electronic music scene. Stay tuned for future revelations that will continue to define the cutting edge of the genre.

Heavy Rotations Vol 1 is Maeve's first long player. Releasing a compilation has long been an ambition of the label, however time was the key component in producing a record we could all be proud of. The best laid plans can often fall by the wayside, having a clear idea of what you want to achieve with a record like this changes constantly as you collect the pieces of the puzzle and try fit them together in a way that makes sense.

As well as the label founders we started by also inviting friends that had already released on Maeve, to contribute to the compilation. This was a good starting point as each of those artists are all quite different from one another so we felt it could produce some interesting results. There was no brief, just a blank canvas to contribute something they felt belonged on the label. It was also super important for us to use this record as a platform for lesser known artists to showcase their work.

So after 2 years of planning we finally have an 11 track compilation together which will be delivered as a triple vinyl in early June. It is a record that developed and changed a lot over that period but now is something Maeve is very excited to share with the world.

On May 19th we will launch the record at Funkhaus Berlin with a line up compiled of those who contributed to the compilation.

Flight Mode makes a welcome return to Delusions, this time joining forces with Joel Brittain to come up with another killer release in the form of 'Burn This'. Those who caught his last one 'It’s So Nice' last year will know the drill; epic, rolling, dubbed-out loopy uptempo house based around a classic disco bassline which patiently builds, increasing in intensity Wild Pitch style. 

This premiere's 'Burn This' treads similar waters with subtle arpeggios floating around an incessant groove whilst layers of vocal pads build to a crescendo over a beautiful ten minute ride. Proper mid-set heat raising material this - a bag essential.

Premiere: River Yarra - Gnome Broth [Music In Exile]

Bart Skils kicks off the three-track single with ‘Fight Club’. Using rolling drums, ‘Fight Club’ builds to a crescendo before the unusual melodic synth phrase bursts in to give the track a distinctive character. ‘Base Camp’ uses a throbbing, militant style synth that emanates in and out to add dynamic and tension. ‘Tracking Down’ uses atmospheric pads to construct a thick build up before a funky, melodic line kicks in to give ‘Tracking Down’ a different feel to the others.
