"Intensely melodic electronic music" is a pretty spot on description of Chilean producer Ricardo Tobar's output. His creations suck you in and make you listen, leaving you feeling equal parts entranced and sharpened.

With around 15 years of producing under his belt, it's no surprise he's perfected these cinematic and melodic qualities in his music, which have been shared with the world via imprints like Border Community, Correspondant, ESP Institute and more recently on Amsterdam's MUSAR, which also marks the home of his next EP coming complete with a remix from the inimitable S.O.N.S.

Channeling similar sonic characteristics in his DJ sets, he leads the charge for this week's Wednesday Alternative mix, treating us to a mix of rich melodic electronics.

"Phred Noir" started the “La dame Noir” project in 2008; back then, it was a blog meant to spread the darker side of disco music. He has, ever since its creation, been a good friend and an inspiration to the Feinstoff platform.

Early 2009, Phred met Hugo Jurado and they decided to open in Marseille the first European venue 100% dedicated to Nu-Disco, Dark Disco & Indie Dance music.

“La dame Noir Bar“, was born, and so was the Marseille Indie Dance scene. That’s how the locals like Did Virgo, FK Club, Amevicious, Fred Berthet, Danton Eeprom, and Sebastien Bromberger got the chance to share the booth with artists like Andrew Weatherall, Superpitcher, Rebolledo, Michael Mayer, Munk came to share the booth in a small 70 square meters bar… That’s also how artists like Mano Le Though, The Revenge, Mark E or Woolfy had their first gig in France!

In 2011, still under the art direction of Phred, “La dame Noir Dancing,” a 250 people-capacity club opened and 3 times a week hosted acts of the emerging such as (urses, Damon Jee, Chloe, Ivan Smagghe, Manfredas, Pachanga Boys, Sacha Funke, ALFOS to name a few..

Playing 3 times a week in “La dame Noir Dancing”  during 9 years, Phred Noir had the outstanding chance to play music with all the artists that matter from the dark disco/indie dance scene, but now, “LdN Dancing” is closed since COVID so it’s time to move forward to new projects & parties…

Today, he has weekly residency & Art direction every Thursday at Le Vice Versa (Marseille) and every Friday at Le Vice Versa (Paris).

“Pandora Frequencies – Tribal Future Sound” is an erotic soundscape that merges tribal rituals with futuristic club energy. Inspired by bioluminescent jungles and alien mysticism, this album blends Afrohouse rhythms, melodic techno, and cinematic choirs into a hypnotic Gen Z privé experience. Each track is a primal dance of lust and ecstasy, where the jungle breathes, the bass pulses, and bodies unite in a futuristic orgy of sound and light. It’s both ancient and modern — a ritual reborn for the dancefloors of tomorrow.

"Musique Pour Enfiler Des Perles" is the third EP by Poison Gauchiste, aka Eric Labbé, following "Musique Pour Faire Différentes Choses" and "Musique Pour Monter En Haut". It is the result of a slow maturation process, shaped by summer idleness and long winter evenings over the past two years. The EP features five compositions that, as always, blend quirky influences with distinctly personal oddities.

Caution: several of these tracks contain rhythms that might inspire dancing — though it’s unclear whether listeners will actually follow through, given the spells of languor and melancholy that occasionally drift onto the dancefloor...

Born and grown up in the hand of mother earth, right next to the strawberry fields and the cows, searched he a bit than one year ago in the woods under every limb and leaf for the native sounds. What he had found one day, was a landing stone straight in front of him. The stone looked like a regular stone, but with the property that the stone can't fall, the stone has no gravity, he hovered over the ground. He tried to move the stone. Up, down, left, right - unsuccessful. With the time, the stone began to vibrate and slowly to glow.
He touched the stone carefully, and a bright light came out of it, so bright that he could not see anything around him.
After a few minutes the light changed into soft fog, and to see was a another wonderful morning.

At the last Carnival (2017) I was on the coast of Santa Catarina, southern Brazil and I went through an experience that I call “Spiritual Elevation” through the music.
First the ritual, as I believe I can call it, began with a spectacular set of the magician Guy J, one of my favorite producers in the world. But the best was yet to come.
The next day I had the honor of being in the Line Up of a Progressive House party that lasted 24 hours. I confess that until today in my 19 years of career I have never seen so many high level DJs together in the same Line Up. Everyone studied and probably presented the best sets of their lives.
From that day I felt that I had a professional evolution as a DJ but above all the biggest evolution was spiritual: the music connected people with the same love in common who would write new stories together from that moment.
This set was made to perpetuate this moment. I hope you like it!

No último Carnaval (2017) estive no litoral de Santa Catarina, sul do Brasil e passei por uma experiência que denomino de Elevação Espiritual através da música.
Primeiramente o ritual, como acredito que posso chamar, começou com um set espetacular do mago Guy J, um dos meus produtores favoritos do mundo. Mas o melhor estava por vir.
No dia seguinte eu tive a honra de estar no Line Up de uma festa voltada ao Progressive House que durou 24 horas. Confesso que até hoje nos meus 19 anos de carreira nunca vi tantos DJs de altíssimo nível juntos no mesmo Line Up. Todos estudaram e provavelmente apresentaram os melhores sets de suas vidas. 
A partir daquele dia eu senti que tive uma evolução profissional como DJ mas acima de tudo a maior evolução foi espiritual: a música conectou pessoas com o mesmo amor em comum que passariam a escrever novas histórias juntos a partir daquele momento.
Esse set foi feito para eternizar tal momento. Espero que gostem!

The annual dance music gathering that is the Winter Music Conference Miami is just around the corner, and Get Physical are ready to take it by storm with a special selection of tracks that welcome in the warmer months. The fantastic Miami 2018 is mixed by Dubspeeka, and features two exclusive tracks as well as plenty of gold from key label associates.

Bristolian Dubspeeka’s shadowy techno sounds roam through the underground here with his DJ skills making this a compelling mix from start to finish, punctuated with his own essential tracks.

The mix wastes no time in getting down to business, with a driving house remix from Steve Rachmad setting a seductive tone. South African label star Floyd Lavine’s remix of Thor Rixon then sends shivers down the spine with its spacious grooves, and Dubspeeka appears with his first contribution, a gritty and stripped back version of Andre Salata’s ‘Symbols.’

Three more standout Dubspeeka cuts define the mid-section and keep things heads down and moody, with dubby chords, molten melodies and zoned out pads sinking you into a state of hypnosis. One of them is the exclusive ‘Keys427’, an evocative and cinematic track with supple drums rolling beneath plaintive chords.

House master Ian Pooley keeps up the seductive vibe with his dreamy house remix, Massimiliano Pagliara reworks an Alessio Pagliaroli cut into a deep, ethereal vocal cut and then Dubspeeka rounds things out with the second exclusive, the gorgeously smooth and atmospheric ‘Land And Sea.’

This is another essential compilation from Get Physical that sets the agenda for Miami 2018.

As a DJ, Fango is celebrated for his high energy, fun and expressive sets. As a producer, he is a perfectionist obsessed with mixing bass drums, recording percussion, sampling and you’ll hear everything from drum machines to orchestral gongs in his work.
