On A Breeze

This was the last song written for this album. I wanted to write something that captured the last 7 years of our lives. The song starts with a very simple melody which represents me and my relocation to Branson in 2018. The melody repeats but adds a fullness in the pads in the background. That is the fullness that I found while being back and starting a new adventure with Mike. From this point on, the beginnings of each verse will have a chord with 4 notes. Each note prepresents myself and Mike as well as our 2 cats. I used an oboe sound to signify ‘home’ and how tranquil it feels to me with the right energy. The change in tone in the middle of the song is us leaving and moving on to other places. After leaving we had so many challenges and obstacles that we overcame. 
The music changes to represent these obstacles but the melody continues with harmonies that represents Mike and I going through these together. The bass in the piano gets more intense and ‘manic’ to show the storms and turmoil. Finally the end of the song represents the change in our lives to go back where it all started and start again with a fresh new canvas. After several years of drs, failures and frustrations there is hope for a new start. The ending of the song fades to very bare solo piano but keeping the same melody. This is saying to the listener that this is the same story but a chance to rewrite it with a new start and a blank canvas. We can create how this next chapter of our lives u folded by Going Back. The song is exactly 3 minutes long and it will be my 3rd time to move back to one of my favorite places.

Going Back

Grounding is the touching of earth and receiving energy from it. To ground is to connect with the earths energy source. In this song the same melody is played by both a guitar and piano. Both are string instruments, representing how energies are different but can still be the same. 
The idea is for the 2 energies to come together to create harmony and rejuvenate your life. The melody is very relaxing and takes you in a leisurely  ride but peaceful at the same time. Grounding is very important to us and it’s going to be amazing to have so many more opportunities to ground!!

Grounding

This song was written about the most precious loves of my life. My husband and our ‘children’. The song a fluid motion to it which represents the effortlessness of our relationship. The over 
all feel of the song is on the 'wedding' side, like something you’d hear at a wedding. That was also intentional showing our commitment to each other even before we were married. Throughout the song you will hear a melody and later you will hear the same one but with a harmony of  only 2 notes. That is to show how we have independence yet we come together to make something great. It also shows that we are able to do life alone but it’s better when we are together. The overall vibe is relaxed becaue that is what we strive to be. Just simple, relaxed and easy going.

My Beloveds

This song was written with one meaning but took ok another. Originally I wrote this when I felt alone and invisible to the world. It was around the time of Covid which was hard for all of us. I felt like I just disappeared into this world and had no purpose. 
However releasing the song gave it a new life. So many people say it’s relaxing and very peaceful for them, especially the Thunderstorm version. What I’m learning is that the song has taken on a new meaning which is to become invisible to temporarily to the world. To become invisible to yourself and your thoughts. To just be in the present moment and become no one, no where, no place and no time. Just to be in the moment and let the world Become Invisible. It’s become my most streamed song

Becoming Invisable

Mike used to always say that our cat Julien had his own song. In addition to that, he also said he has several names. One of them being Hope, short for Hopewa Mopewa. His ‘song’ is the melody you hear played on the piano. I took that shirt melody and made it into a song. I used flutes to represent a carefree life and have always loved the sound of flute harmony. I used to play flute in high school and this reminds me of playing with my friend Angela. This song was made to feel like it was from a fairy tale or cartoon. It’s how I picture our cat full of so much personality. We picture him frolicking in the meadow playing with butterflies 🦋 and chilling near the creek

Hope's Meadow

This song holds special meaning to me. Cloud Thoughts is a term I heard an amazing therapist use to describe unwanted, persistent thoughts, especially in those with OCD. She said cloud thoughts are just that, passing, floating and ever changing. If you focus on the clouds all you will see are the clouds and more clouds. But to just let them be means they will come and go in their own. They will change on their own. There is nothing to do. 
The song starts with a persistent progression (the thought) going over and over and over in the ‘left hand’. The melody starts to present itself slowly and a little out of tempo. This represents when you realize you have that persistent thought and you start to ignore it. You’re essentially making the space for your conscious thought to take over. As the song progresses the new melody starts to work in harmony with the cloud thoughts (which are always there). The idea is when you let go and just be you find harmony in what you can control and what you can not. But because you can control more by letting go you start to change your whole song. As the song finishes, it’s showing you have ‘won’ this round by ignoring and letting go. However, the clouds thoughts are always there, so it was fitting for the song to end with a ‘new thought’ fading out representing how it’s nonstop and the practice of letting go and ignoring is also nonstop.

I wrote this song with to get me through some difficult times about a year ago. It reminds me of the importance of being an unconditional support and love for those you love.

This was written while picturing recent trips to the Outer Banks in NC collecting shells, sea glass and driftwood. This reminds me of the waves rolling on and off the shore and the chaos that creates which beautiful finds.

This song was written in celebration of leaving behind something not for me and moving on to a new life and a new beginning.

New Beginnings

I have been into music my whole life and have been writing for as ling as I can remember. I love to experiment with new sounds but I love ambient music. I love to draw on my life for inspiration and try to create with meaning and purpose.
